Not sure if this will work with a gb morter. I made a morter that shot the 35mm film canisters , I would fill them with plaster or other things depending on my mood LOL , I used to make a cool tracer type round for it. I would pour the plaster into the canister , insert a pencil about 1/2 way into the plaster to make a hole , then i would take a sparkler crush it up and mix with a little water make it into a paste then pack the hole with it , leave a nice size glob on the outside and sprinkle a touch of black powder onto the blob and work it in with my finger ( this helps ignite the sparkler) , Leave to dry a day or so. Load it into the mortar with the glob of sparkler at the back. When you fired it the sparkler would leave a nice trail of sparks and smoke behind the projectile. I used to do this with a homemade morter i had. Be very careful with this , You need to adjust the amount of sparkler to make sure it goes out before it lands or else it could start a fire =) With a golf ball could you scuff the back up and just place a glob on the back? If the sparkler material will stay in place it would give nice sparks behind the ball for a few yards after it leaves the barrel =)
