Default 60 deg. Rivets, Rivet tools, Countersinks and Drill bits For Sale

I have 60 deg. rivets for the 1917a1 & 1919:

1) Forward Top plate rivet, #7. I give you both the round head & 60 deg. countersunk rivets, so you can choose.
2) Rear Top plate rivet, #7.
3) Forward Cartridge stop.
4) Rear Cartridge stop rivet, #7.
5) Large Trunion rivets, 11/32”.
6) Bottom plate and Pintle pad rivets, 3/16”
7) Long Pintle pad rivet, 3/16”.

Countersinks and bits:

3/16 Cobalt 135 deg split point bit used for the small rivet holes.
#7 Cobalt 135 deg split point bit for the Top Plate and rear cartridge stop rivet holes.
11/32 Cobalt 135 deg split point drill bit used for drilling the large, trunion rivet holes.
No. 5, Cobalt, 60 deg. combined drill and countersink.

I have 9/16 and 5/8 HSS, 118 degree, 1/2 in shank, Silver and Deming drills. 4140 steel is tough on HSS, but if you're just enlarging a 9/16th hole, or the Cobalt 11/32 is used first to drill a pilot hole, this should get you done (with a little oil and patience). This is the same imported bit for which my local Lowe’s is getting $17.00.

and rivet setting tools:

I have 3 1/2" and 1 1/8" straight .401 shank rivet setting tools. With between 1/8 and 5/32 of the rivet shank protruding, these will make a rivet head very similar to the factory rivets. Experiment first of course. These are high alloy, heat-treated steel. Though designed for rivet guns, a large hammer (BFH) works too. There is also a fixture (center) available for setting rivets with a hydraulic press. It requires an additional 1" sleeve that must be purchased separately (see www.burntcapital.com for more information).

60 Degree M2/M3 Rivets

Many people have asked me for M2/M3 rivets, so here they are.

1) 60 degree 3/16 x 11/16 (60)
2) Round head 5/32 x ½ (12)
3) 60 degree 3/16 x 1 3/16 (6)
4) Round head 3/16 x 2 ¾ (5)

These, like my 1919 rivets, are not Mil-spec. (those are a countersunk roundhead rivet), they are made for the home builder. The rear Top plate and Bottom plate, bottom front and bolt hold back rivets have a small 60-degree head so they can be bucked for peening like those in a 1919. The small 60-degree head means less of your Side plates wind up on the shop floor. The long Trunion rivets and 5/32” rivets have conventional pan heads. All rivets are a little long. Rivets can be shortened much easier than they can be lengthened (they can’t), so there is extra length to fill holes enlarged or otherwise boogered during the demil process. Extra rivets of all sizes are provided.

Price: $27.50 (I can’t in good conscience charge you more)

1917/1919 BHPB and Cam rivets

I’ve been asked for these in the past, but never offered them because I thought demand would be too small. Finally an opportunity presented itself that allowed me to split a production run. I now have them available for those of you building a 1917, or wanting to replace the BHPB or Cams. These were made using original 1919 drawings (thank you Rollin and Sam), but a little extra length has been added for the same reason as above. You need four of each, I give you six.

Price: $10.00 (Sorry, hassle factor)

For order information, see above.

Michael, just wanted to say thanks for the fast shipping, got them a couple days ago. I just want to add that the rivet sets you have put together are the best I've used, thanks for everything.
