He heee heeeeee!
Ok! who knows how to weld this damn thing and offers semi parts! It took 12 lunch breaks (and a lot of strange looks from other employees) to file and grind weld splatter to get this thing together this far. I swear, give me a $3 harbor freight file set and a dremmel tool and I can build a space ship! but I cant weld.

Does welding this type of reciever back together have any effect on reparking? As the back of my 1919 left side plate parked darker due to heat treating of the original plate for stregth. Will the heat from rewelding make the park a different color in those areas?

Yeah, it does. You can see the welds on my Bren under the park. I look at them as battle scars!

I know how you feel! All those mausers I ordered forced me to sacrifice another section of the basement for guns!

I have an entire room dedicated to my collection. Wasnt a problem with regular Infantry weapons, but these crew served take up WAY too much space. A MG42 on a Lafayette mount takes up 1/4 my floor space! Add in the Spanish bazooka, the DSHK dummy and my other nick knacks....well, space is at a premium. Lets not even discuss how Ive got ammo stacked in the corner. Im thinking about thinning out the herd soon. I have so many guns that I bought just to 'have'....I never shoot them, they sit on my wall. Many of them serve no tactical value and have little historical significance. (Styer 95 or Enfield Jungle Carbine for example) Dont worry, Ill put em up here first....

bigblock,
I know what you mean about the time spent removing the slag and cleaning the channels of the receiver. I just finished doing mine from CFS as well. I think I will leave it on the mount until a cold winter day when I am bored. If you weren't so far west I would give you a hand with the TIG welding, but I can't offer to do it for you as I have no manufacturing license yet.
