Review: Karma Metal Products' 1919a4 Semi Trigger and Sear

by staff@1919a4.com

One of the most difficult aspects of building your own semi 1919a4 from a full auto parts kit is creating the semi trigger and sear. Tom from Karma Metal Products took the task on for us, and allowed us to take a look at his work for the 1919a4 community.

Karma Metal Products' 1919a4 Semi Sear
The semi sear is well made, and is ready to drop in!

The price for the kit, which consists of the trigger itself and the sear, along with an instruction sheet, is $125 delivered in the continental United States. The trigger doesn't come with the spring, so you'll have to hunt that down on your own. The trigger is made from 1018 steel, and then it's heat treated to 54-58Rc .020 deep. The sear and disconnector are 4140 heat treated to same specs. This way the internals don't get too brittle. The finish is a black oxide, not a bluing. Tom says that you'll have to keep it oiled so it doesn't rust, but as he points out, that's usually not that difficult in a 1919a4. All the parts are CNC machined in sunny Mansfield, Ohio.

The zeroxed instruction sheet details the specs you'll need to finish the modification of the barrel extension, lock frame, bolt and accelerator. As with the rest of the project of building a semi 1919a4, it is challenging, but Karma's products can take you one step closer to getting your semi 1919a4 out to the range for some fun!
