In my experiance.. the 100rnd belts with the brass gromets are only for 30-06 or 8mm. They are just way too tight for 308, even with trying to load 308 with a 1918 belt loader was rough..and even ripped one of the loops..

Maybe a single stage loader might work better??

The USGI 225 belts with the brass or steel tabs work OK with 308.

I hand load my IMA 100rnd belts by hand wqith 308 with no problems. Takes a while tho but after the first time .308 works great.

No problem

My single-stage from JJ Custom loaded up .308 on IMA belts without a problem. The cloth that makes up the IMA belts is a bit "thinner" than the white 250 round belts I have and they stretch to fit the .308 just fine. As it happens, I loaded up four of them yesterday.

My home built loader links them fine:) Soak a rag with break free and roll the shells back and forth.Or just lube the neck of the case.
