In my experiance.. the 100rnd belts with the brass gromets are only for 30-06 or 8mm. They are just way too tight for 308, even with trying to load 308 with a 1918 belt loader was rough..and even ripped one of the loops..
Maybe a single stage loader might work better??
The USGI 225 belts with the brass or steel tabs work OK with 308.
