I don't think you will find such an animal...ie 1917A1 made by Colt.

But Colt did make what they called the Model 1919 heavy water-cooled. Also all the Colts had the internal captive recoil spring which is different than the standard 1919 internals on the market today.

If you are trying to reproduce a 1917A1, with todays 1919 kits, you should be looking at using RIA markings.

I mis-stated what I want to do. I want do find a Colt 1917 engraving picture and I will use it to repro and modify as if it had been converted to an a1. Sorry I didn't clarify what I needed.

Here is a pic as well. This is obviously a 1919A4 conversion. Ignore the Israeli stamp above the US INSP portion. For what you want, you just need to add a hand stamped "A1" after MODEL OF 1917.

Thank you, those are the examples I have been looking for. Lucky, we will be getting with you as soon as the money is there to get the 3 17a1 sight sets. It's a real PIA to have to do a project dollar by dollar, but it's still better than not doing it at all and always wishing.

If anyone can make out the stampings above Lucky's Colt picture please advise me, this is what my gun says also but I have no idea what the stamps should be. Thank you and good luck. Hotch

The circle and square inspectors mark, I don't think thats a flaming bomb on the circle but I can't see that well on the screen. Thanks
