Was going to start a new thread for this, but since the info is current...just an addition. John sent me (2) of these new kits last week or so. They are the absolutly best kits I've ever seen.....even better than anyones '95%' kits. Here's what I found....the metal parts are all nearly 98% finish...best I've ever seen. The internals look 'as new'. The lock frame's have a milled slot about .060-.070 deep on the right side....but will be gone after 30cal's machineing. Barrel's look 'as new' and I had to get my patch rod out to clean out the cosmoline....nice lands and grooves. Top plate is riveted at the rear to the LSP and should be detached for assembly. Bottom plate is immaculate. Whoever demilled the two kits I recieved did not leave a mark of any kind....and there is no plate remenent....just beautiful. Checked all parts and everything....including the RSP rear cartridge stop....is there. In fact, parts are so nice....they still had cosmoline all over them....medium to litely covered. Came off with some WD-40 and a couple shop towels. I'm getting (15) more of these kits....better mail John some $$$$....these will not last very long at $365.00.......

I sent John a check for one when he first opened up this buy and after hearing about how nice the kits are, I can't wait to get it. Maybe I should buy another kit or so??, just not 15........

I'm not going to try and speak for John, but I beleive that there were 50 buyers needed to get the group buy going. There are only 17 shown bought here so far, IMHO. Seems like there might be a few left, but who knows:rolleyes:

Got my kit fast.

John does say the kits are in good condition with some wear so go by that statement if when you buy one. Definitely not a 95% like L999here received but after talking with him I think he got the first few kits in the pick.

On the positive side the parts were all there and John shipped it real fast. Bolt and barrel look good. Shroud finish was worn but it had no dents. Price was the lowest I've seen.

On the negetive side I noticed on my lock frame group the pin where the trigger rests is welded in and one of the welds is cracking. Also the breech lock screw looked like it was staked a hundred times in it's past life and need to be replaced and the screw hole in the receiver needs to be cleaned up. Rear site is bent down. Finish is pretty well worn off most of the parts and will have to be completely reparked. The trunnion has a small dent on top on the thin part where the cartidges ride.

The funny part was the barrel shroud was sticking half out of the box when it arrived and I'm expecting a visit from the FBI any day now after the UPS guy turns me in.

All in all, I don't think much of this will matter after it's sand blasted and parked but I sure hope none of the parts are worn out. I just don't know enough about these guns to tell.

mine was quite a bit like yours. i was hoping for that 95% kit that len received and honestly it was worse than the grade b kits that i had from OOW. my rear sight knob was broken off and the little springy flap of metal is missing and the little tiny screws one was gone and well lets say that all the parts were there, but this was not in great shape.

he did cover shipping though, since the creek was canceled.

1919 kits

If there is any problem with worn parts or anyone is not satisfied with there purchase. There is always a money back guarantee on all parts. I would bet that the rear sight was damaged during shipping.

Thanks

The kit I got from the buy was a "b" grade kit with all the parts there and very well packed. I did get an "a" grade kit from OOW and paid the extra $50.00 for a select grade kit; for my money I got a cracked sight tower base, a 3 1/2" cut in the left sideplate and a very bad taste in my mouth. John delivered what he promised.

Thanks for standing behind your product John.

You told me on the phone it was good condition with finish wear and it is about that so no complaints.

I wanted to order another kit anyway and maybe I'll go for a grade 'A' kit from Coles. I figure I'm going to machine the parts and repark and I'll probably buger up the first one anyway.

easy fellas. mine was not even a complaint. it was more to not let Len's description give false hopes.

the fact that john shipped the kit for free as we were not able to meet in KCR, even though i offered to pay made of for anything that i might have been missing.

i just reread my post and it did seem a bit negative. sorry for that. that was honestly not my intention. for the price and service i received i was more than happy with my kit.
