Ok so now I have my 1919 working like it supposed to as far as the action is concerned. I would really like to know if there is anything I can do about my trigger pull. I understand the trigger pull will be stiff but right now it is almost uncomfortable to pull and it requires two fingers. I have tried a lighter spring and there was really no difference in the pull. If anyone has any info I would greatly appreciate it.

Check your sear to bolt mating surface,, The sear should slide smooth in the slot. When i built my first gun, I used a die grinder and polishing biscuts to polish all surfaces. If the spring tension is good, I'll wager that the sear slot is tight or rough.

Mine was alos very stiff and I tried several things before I realized that the front of the trigger was rubbing against the back of the barrel extension. i tokk a fiel to it and slowly filed down on the front of the trigger till it did not rub. Big time improvement. look at the that to see if ti is rubbing.

About the only things you can do something about to improve trigger pull besides using a KMP set up is 1) make sure sear moves smoothly 2) make sure sear spring is not to stiff 3) trigger spring

glad you got the rest figured out;)
I will just add to the statement to make sure the sear spring isn't bent up more than it should be. I had one that was about 1/2" high (from a right angle to the shaft it inserts on) and it caused all kinds of problems.

I just wanted to say thanks for the help on this. When I took the bolt down it seemed to be a combination a badly bent sear spring and a roughly machined surface for the sear. I polished the sear surface up nice and tried to bend the spring back down some. I also noticed that the rear pistol grip cover moves up and down about 1/32" to 1/16" when squeezing the trigger. After I reassembled the weapon the trigger is noticeably better than it was, so I think I can fine tune it from here just a bit more.

Backplate slop

When I got my 1919 I had the same problem with the back plate moving up and down...When it would move down it would keep the trigger from tripping the sear , making the trigger next to imposable to work...I shimmed up the plate with some small rubber pieces and the trigger works great now...Some guys cut more clearance at the trigger slot to fix this, but I like mine shimmed because it takes away the up and down slop.
