Since I posted my M2 tripod yesterday I was lookin for pictures of when I did my 1917A1 tripod and cradle. The tripod came to me in great shape just with many layers of paint and some strange colors. It was a simple blast and paint job with rapco 23070 WWII Semi-Gloss OD. The cradle was a bit more labor intensive, the entire thing was taken apart, blasted parkerized and put back together and I managed to still have it work. Lol There are a lot more parts to the T&E than I thought there were. I think I got the red locking material pretty close as well from what was originally in the locking nuts.

Looks great, wonderful work.
I think I got a little crazy impatient and did the restoration in a day or two. Wish I still had that kind of free time.
PS did you replace the strap ?
Yeah, I made one and also ordered one from greaser. The ones that he makes are very nice.
Well done Corey (y)the collection is coming along nicely.
