Bear with me as this is my first 1919 build. Finished and triple checked everything. Figured out assembly, too! (guy thing, never read directions until after the fact!)
When I hand cycle, it either won't cock, or if it's cocked (can't tell), won't fire. (I know dry firing is not great for them, but got to dry run it first!)
Karma trigger and spring on an Izzy .308 gun. Didn't headspace yet,bbl alway in. Could that be it? Doing this dry, no ammo...
Also, is the set screw holding the semi trigger spring critical on adjustment? Trigger pulls smooth to top of notch in buffer plate, just no "click"
Thanks in advance for this "rookie" moment...

If the barrel extension is going all the way forward it's not a headspace isssue, you have the cocking lever forward when you put the bolt in don't you.
The screw on the lock frame is important only if it prevents the trigger from moving far enough, it should be about flush with the bottom of the bar.

Is the sear moving at all when you pull on the trigger? lock the recoil spring in place and try it with the backplate off, might be the slot in it holding things up.

Good luck

If you've got the bbl screwed ALL the way in, you are not GOING to get a trigger trip sound at all! Unscrew that bbl about 2-3 clicks at a time until you get the trigger to fall.

Let us know what you find!

bbl extension

Bbl extension stops about 3/4" out, but from looking in disassembly tutorial, it looks normal. Bolt comes up to it flush with the extraction pawl in line with incoming rounds.Cocking lever was forward when inserted with bolt uncocked.I will go out two clicks and try it. If that fails, I'll reassemble it out of the receiver and see if anything is hitting on the trigger, etc.I'll tackle it tomorrow, doing the "quality time thing" now..sigh, reruns of "Ghost". Ever notice when Pat Swayze gets shot, the walther ppk/s is on safe? Women just don't appreciate this when you pause the movie and point out this fact!;)

The barrel is screwed in too far, it doesn't screw in tight against the barrel extension.

With the internals out of the gun unscrew the barrel so it does NOT stick out into the opening in the bbl extension, slide the bolt onto the bbl ex. and make sure the locking block engages the bolt, then screw the barrel in until it makes contact then back it off 2-3 notches(bbl catch spring).

Re install everything and it should work correctly now

Another...

Another thing to check is to make sure the plate that cam's the bolt lock into place is snug... Check the screw located under the bottom plate... I've run into this on few noob's guns and that was the last thing I checked on a gun thats headspaced right and the trigger is set up right...

Check and make sure that your cocking lever is installed in the bolt correctly,, they will fit in backwards, and if so, won't cock the firing pin to the rear so it can ingage with the sear,,,, the hook on the bottom of the lever should be facing to the rear of the bolt.

About 5 clicks, and then she works. Tried it out of the gun, sub-assemlies together and could see that was it. Put it all back in, and nice "click".I knew it was something stupid (as in ME!)
Off to triple read the headspacing articles, and have a friend here who used to do that a lot on 50's,too!

I am having the same problem, just finished the internal machining on it last night. It seems like the forked cam from the trigger group assy is catching the semi trigger ears. It seems like the trigger is not going high enough (but its bottoming out on the bottom plate in the back) or is there a machining step I missed with widening the forked cam in the trigger assy ? I do not have the trigger return spring yet but I am holding down on the trigger to similate the spring, who is selling the springs ? I am going to need four of them.

You are talking about the Accelerator in the Lock Frame. YES! It needs the clearance for the trigger milled in. The specs or on this page:

I thought there was something wrong. hey 30cal machinegunner I need 4 trigger springs, unless you know where I can get some music wire to make my own, looked all over Indy for it, could not find any. Anyway if you could just bring them to the build party, but I will only be there on sunday, you going to be there then ?

No hobby shop here (did I mention I live in the dairy capital of Georgia). I bought and cut an accelerator spring I found at an auto parts store. But this will have you paying $5.00 for an 8” piece of wire.
