so i am unable to determine what this round is.

20mm diameter so i assume that it is of course 20mm, but what is the full black bullet mean? all of the places that i have found do not have that variant listed

also have maybe 11 boxes of these lc 79 308 blanks with the little red plug instead of the crimped ends. i think that they are on m60 links?

You'll need to show a photo of BOTH sides to determine if those are M60 links

oh i don't care if they are 60 links or not, they are by the way. i mean t to have the question mark after the number of rounds. i am taking them off the links as there is some light corrosion. they just happened to be in the same photo that i took of the 20mm round.

i was planning on keeping all of this, even though i am not a reinactor so of course i have no need for blanks.

Looks like 20mm Solothurn, if so I think I want em.

Shoot me a PM with dimensions and headstamp and I'll go from there.

....maybe....?

The 20MM might be the Lahti round. It was used in the Solthurn and was also used by Italy,Germany and several other countries. If the base....which is not pictured...has a belt around it like a Weatherby or Winchester magnum, then it is a 20 MM Lahti round. This was the only 20MM to have a belted case. Believe the black projectile is either AP or tracer. Several countries used black for other than AP designation. Also look at the base of the round...might have the Natzi eagle proof or waahffen mark and therefore is of some collector value. There are several other 20MM varients that were used from late 30's until early 50's. US had at least (4) different styles for the Orliken,Boffers and the navy M27A1. M27A1 used both a rimmed and a rimless case,as I have examples of both and had several new barrels in cosmoline. It was tempting to make a quad 20MM.....but used them to make M103 barels for the Lahti......

....yep....

....having at least one made and hope to have it ready by the Oct. KC shoot. Have a bunch of M103 brass and over 1K projectiles...only ABOUT 200 primers,as most of the 20MM M103 are electrically fired...but the Lahti has a fireing pin. Just one more fun toy......

That's a 20x138B long solothurn, used in the Lahti and Solothurn cannons. Dark blue/black projo usually means AP, white strip should mean tracer. I would guess it's a Finnish round, but I would need the headstamp to verify.

There was a dude making 20mm barrels for the Lahti, chambered in the Hispano Sueza round, which is a small case. You would need a chamber reamer to make it 20mm VULCAN or 20x138B. He wanted just over 2K for the barrel, but I could have mine repaired for about half.
