I just finished sending 100 rounds of Piney Mountain 22 Cal. tracer down range. I loaded up some 30 round mags for my full auto supressed 1022 that I bought two years ago at the SAR show. Man thoes little buggers really lit up. I had such a ball shooting them that I am thinking of selling the ammo!! I wish I could afford to light that many tracers in my 30 cal.

Where to buy .22 tracers

I found two places for .22 rimfire tracers, the first is Sportsman's Guide (10 rounds $6.47 plus shipping) and the second is the link below for $19 for 50.
www.outlandsales.com/tracer22.html

I emailed the seller to find out if they are attending KCR for the show, I'll add a post if they reply. I'll also contact Hi-tech and see if they have them.

They also come with the warning "may start fires in dry conditions". This is in-correct. For me it is "WILL START FIRES in dry conditions".
My 1919 is stamped "Tommytracer #1" for a reason. :)

I picked up some of these at a gun show about 7 or 8 years ago. They are a blast to shoot, but the ones I purchased were very expensive. I think they were like $10 for 25rnds. A lot of fun though.

do they still spin wildly out of control when theyre almost burned up? I had some years ago that would shoot off in all directions as the lead melted. Tons of fun, i might have to get a case of them.

cost of 22 tracer 3 cent per round!

The cost of the tracer I used was 3 cent a round. $15 for box of 50. Thats $150 for a brick of 500 which is what I purchased. I went back to the range and shot some through my lever action. They were great. I also dropped a 22 Cal conversion kit into my M16 ( yes its full auto). The ammo would not cycle the bolt. I tried some BLAZER ammo in the same gun and it worked pretty well with infrequent failures to cycle bolt. I finished at the range with sending another 30 rounds of the tracer down range in my 10/22. I love that little hummer with or without tracers!!!

you are correct 30 not 3 cent a round

I can't add, subtract , divide or do the times thing even with a machine. Must have had my brain jarred from to much full auto!! Have also solved the M16 drop in kit problem I hope. Will know for sure in a week.

tracers

If you guys reloaded you could shoot tracers in your 1919 or most other .30 cal gun cheaper then those .22, I usually load every tenth round on my semi 1919, it helps remind me just how much ammo I'm going through. They are best in subdued lighting, overcast or late afternoon just before sunset, not at night unless you are 100 percent sure your not going to start a fire, it's amazing how easy tracers will start fires,I've seen solid logs start up! It's also very educational to see how easy a bullet will change directions!

When at shoots that permit night firing (Eden) I load the belts with 200 rounds of tracer followed by 50 rounds of incendiary. Puts on a good show. Between them I run several belts of Turkish, which just about blinds me. Then it's up to the 223 HKs and Thompsons and the red & green tracer I scrounge up for the shoot.

Then for some reason it seems very dark up there on the mountain.
