Firing some 1970's OFV Indian crap, I know the general consensus about the stuff but it was cheap and have fired 5000 or so rounds with no problems. There is one thing I've been wondering since last year. After I shoot it and let the gun sit for a few days before I clean it, the gun turns a minty green color where ever the burnt powder touches. Doesn't seem to be corrosion. Is it pieces of copper oxidizing? Any thoughts?

Corrosive ammo! I'll bet that if you wire brush the green stuff off the metal will be pitted underneath.

I noticed that the muzzle and the booster were doing that after a few days even when I was swabbing the barrel and flushing the works with a neutralizer right after shooting. Now, I only shoot the corrosive stuff when I plan to do a detail strip and take it into the shower with me immediately after shooting.
