What a shame, Classic Arms charged me 41.12 UPS next day air shipping and handling for one pistol from North Carolina to Indiana. Shipping was almost one forth the cost of the gun. Why do they not offer shipping thru the United States Postal Service like other companys do? I have a Sig 225 P6 inbound and $15.00 is the cost of shipping thru the postal service. And to top it off the pistol took four days to arrive, thats just [email protected]#$%.

This topic has been covered countless times. you can ship long guns with the USPS with no problem, you can also ship handguns if it's from a FFL to a FFL, best deal is to use the flat rate priority box for $8.95 plus any extras you may want.

Fed Ex and UPS have their own self imposed shipping requirements for handguns, namely overnight shipping is required but they will let you use the "super saver" method, cost is around $20+. They screwed you royal by shipping the most expensive way, a guaranteed time next day delivery.

It's best to check how a company is willing to ship when ordering any firearm but especially a handgun.

I've had a number of places that have shipped USPS to my C&R. Postal regs say "dealer" but I guess some of them interpret that as "FFL"

Actually, a C&R is not a license to deal in or sell guns. Only to collect. That's why it's not considered valid by some sources.

I personally see no reason not to be able to use them though.

companies like to squeeze a few extra bucks from customers on shipping.......classic arms is greedy for a lot more $$$$$ It does not cost 41 bucks to ship a handgun overnight by UPS

Your understanding is wrong. This has been covered before and clarified more than once. Anyone with an FFL can ship a firearm, to include a handgun through USPS to another FFL holder and in some instances, to NON FFL holders. When I say FFL, I do mean a "dealer", as an 03 does not officially qualify. All you have to do is hand them form PS1508, which they stamp and hand back to you. That's it.
