I like the looks of the A6 flash hider. Much more authentic. I like the looks of the stuff in the vault too. You must have too much spare cash sitting around!:D I would suggest having some kids and teaching them the joy of shooting. Kids will use up some of that spare $. If not that, you should give me some of the toys!! I will treat them well, I promise.

The WC is the focus for a good reason, the A6 is very nice. The safe looks like a lockable toybox for great guy toys.

I have the A6 post war cone flash hider, I may still pick up one of the repro WW II Boosters.

but my Question is Where are the Rivets on this gun? Did you counter sink them on the bottom plate? it looks smooth.

Rivets

This is a CatCo F/A , apparently this is not uncommon. I think they welded the rivets, then ground them off. I would like to send it to John McGuire with a new bottom and top plate and let him fix it. I know its ugly, but first things first. the A6 kit took awhile!

Water Gun

The "17 in the safe is a direct result of this site. I just wish I had one of Lou's water jackets instead of the 28/35. Oh well, maybe next time. I will build a semi '17 with a OhioBlacksheep WJ, I need the steel look, my wife really likes it! Frazer

Nice stuff, frazer! I took a set of pics of all the components of the USGI A6 laid out. I mean to host them and get it all posted here someday. I know a lot of folks here have not seen how much difference there is from the Izzy bipod that just bolts on the A4 jacket. Not to mention the difference from the WWII to the Korean era A6s. As pointed out by KABAR2, it can take a while to accumulate all the parts, unless one gets lucky and finds a complete set, which is rare. In any case, thanks for posting the pics! :)

Thanks!

BTW, the trunnion on this gun is hard chromed and has twice the length of threads for the barrel jacket. Over an inch of threads. Is it possible this is an A6 specific thing or what's the deal with the extra threads and the chrome? Again, any info is greatly appreciated! Frazer42

The extra length for the jacket threads was added on the A6 during WWII production at Saginaw. The added stress of the bipod dictated this. As for the chroming, that was a post war change. Not sure if it began during Korean war production at RIA or came later. I do know that A6 production at SAK (Saco-Lowell Shops) did include chromed trunnions, just as they were doing on the M37s at that time.

By the way, if anybody stumbles on SAK marked 1919 parts in their kits, I'll trade you or purchase them from you. Will pay well for any such stuff.
