I guess this is as good a place as any to post these. One set has the flash-hider, the other doesn't. Comments or suggestions please.

Thanks ahead for any input. Frazer

Nice stuff, frazer! I took a set of pics of all the components of the USGI A6 laid out. I mean to host them and get it all posted here someday. I know a lot of folks here have not seen how much difference there is from the Izzy bipod that just bolts on the A4 jacket. Not to mention the difference from the WWII to the Korean era A6s. As pointed out by KABAR2, it can take a while to accumulate all the parts, unless one gets lucky and finds a complete set, which is rare. In any case, thanks for posting the pics! :)
The extra length for the jacket threads was added on the A6 during WWII production at Saginaw. The added stress of the bipod dictated this. As for the chroming, that was a post war change. Not sure if it began during Korean war production at RIA or came later. I do know that A6 production at SAK (Saco-Lowell Shops) did include chromed trunnions, just as they were doing on the M37s at that time.

By the way, if anybody stumbles on SAK marked 1919 parts in their kits, I'll trade you or purchase them from you. Will pay well for any such stuff.
