Aaron's M2HB - Finished!
Parkerized and finally ready for full use and use in reenactments.
I don't know if "finished" is the right word. How's about "done enough for now"? ;)

There were a few serious problems to overcome, and I wish the park came out slightly darker. I wasn't going for a mesuem piece, but an actual shooter, and something I can use for reenacting. I'm about 85%+ satisfied with how it turned out. I'm quite glad that I finally have this thing 'done' after 4 years!

I couldn't have done this alone, I had lots of advice and help. And y'all know who you are....

I like the look of the top cover and sight base, with their original blue-faded-to-purple coloring! I am collecting USGI Saginaw 1919 parts in that finish, and have seen both M2HB and 1919 stuff with that faded blue. Now to figure out how to create that shade with a new finish!

I like how my brownish plastic charging handle grip closely matches the redish-purple. Too bad the wood grips on the backplate aren't slightly lighter in colour.

Not in a hurry to get my black handle back. ;)

you know my 1919a4 has the same redish color on the same parts as your m2. i never knew why its like that but it does look unique and i like it. the grey park will darken up over time mine has on some other guns i parked that came out light like that. seems like the more oil the darker it got. looks good tho.

I have an M2 in the front room too.
My wife hates it bitches all the time while cleaning around it.
The whole time I'm thinking you have no clue.
My brother and I spent our whole lives waiting on a 50 BMG.
I think thats why I leave it in the front room so I can just look at
and think of the history behind it.
If that gun could talk. Every damn good gun has a story....

Your gun looks great...

106 in reenactments? Yes

Well, I at least INTEND too...
The blankfire reenacting group I joined over a year ago is causing me lots of headaches, and I've been on the edge of almost quitting for the last 4 months. My reputation did not precede me which has put me at a major loss. I'm being kept out of the loop, out of meeting as treated as "the new guy" as if I'm some lowly peon that doesn't know his stuff, and can't help out. This is the furthest from the truth. I'm actually the only one in the org that owns military vehicles! More importantly with my intellect and my talents, I'm a very valuable resource, but they don't see it or don't want it. I can not be satisfied to "shut up and show up" when I can help out so drastically. It's quite an aggravating situation.

NIICEE job, Aaron. That is my ultimate goal gun; unfortunately, it is also WAY out of my budget at the present. Maybe one of these days, IF they don't get banned first.

Aaron,
Did you decide if you want me to bring the 106MM to you at Cheyenne Wells....or we can swing by my hangar on the way home and load it there for the trip to its new home?? We can either mount it in your jeep or just load it on the trailer.....your choice.

Hotmail still sending blank emails?

Let's just transfer it up at the hangar. If there's any problems they will be much easier to fix in town than in the field.

I use cleanzoil. this stuff is great you can clean your gun then wipe your leather and wood stocks down with it. It has a pleasant oder so your not lightheaded when u use it. Me and my brother inlaw split a gallon every so few months it cheaper that way. It's also good to wipe down your mill or lathe with it to prevent rust. As you can tell i love the stuff.
