I don't consider myself super organized but not totally disorganized either. Last week I opened my plastic tub that has M16 spares in it and while rummaging around noticed something missing from the tub.... 2 Ea. Old School Bushmaster NIW 11.5" heavy MG barrel kits from back in the day. Didn't toss em for sure. Sold em? Nope, would remember that. Spent a good while tearing things apart trying to figure out where they are then gave up. It's not like I even need them for a project or anything but now it's bugging the crap out of me.

If I'm the only one this happens too I'll just chock it up to my own senility and move on. 2 barrels MIA lol.

I have done that beforew like many of us I am guessing. I was buying so much stuff it would go in a box and then up on the pallet raccking. When I moved the shop a few years ago I found all kinds of neat stuff but I also lost all new stuff that I still can't find!

Probably sitting under a pile of mismatched socks in a drawer, next to a set of car keys from 1982? I keep having the opposite happen; having moved a couple of times over the years, I still occasionally open an old ammo can or a plastic tub and either "Where did THAT come from?" or even better, "What does THAT go to?"

I sure I'm not the only one here that has lost a whole gun. PPK/s.
Found it about five years later in a pelican case used for SCUBA repair parts.
This was before I got old and started forgetting things.

Definitely easy to do when there are tubs and crates involved… I’ve been moving the last couple of weeks and for years I’ve had stuff scattered all over the house. In bedrooms, cabinets, drawers, closets and the garage. The new house I’m moving into has a basement room that’s big enough to hold all my gun stuff. I went and got a bunch of shelving to hold everything. While moving I found stuff in tubs and boxes I forget even buying. Finally having everything in one spot will definitely help me keep it organized. Oh yea and an excel spreadsheet or two…
As for losing stuff… let’s just call it being misplaced for a certain period of time.

Don't get me started - I'm still trying to find my Hedgehog FN30 trigger bar. Haven't seen it in years. Then again, I've been trying to get my Colt Commercial RSP back from a machinist in Northern Mississippi for over 5 years. I'm starting to wonder if he's even alive.

APEX Customer Service gets those calls every day...

And the Warehouse manager is very familiar with how items / pallets get "swallowed up" and won't be seen again for years!

You fukcers kill me. You are all like 'ohhh noooo.......I lost my pile of hundred dollar bills again, guess I gotta go get some more hundred dollar bills......

You know what I found once? A box of .22 ammo. It was one of those little mini milk cartons, 225 rounds I think. I felt like I had just struck gold.

If any one of you needs a lesson on accountability and inventory management, let me know. Ill be happy to take a 15% 'finders commission' while helping you get organized. 😀🤣 Love you all BTW.

Now if we are talking about misplaced small parts on the workbench....oh, thats a whole other story. Just this week I was working on an old Colt revolver. I went to peen a part, I lost my grip and it went flying into the stratosphere. Ill never see it again. So yeah, Ive lost stuff, but its only been small parts while building.

Ok for real though...........entire guns and parts kits? Boooooooo!

You lost me at " I was buying so much stuff it would go into a box then up onto pallet racking"
Seriously !!! I have a bunch of stuff but not enough for pallet racking.
I do have my Sauna full of HMMWV parts but that's different.

Not sure if this qualifies as "lost", but UPS just dropped off 1,800 rounds of IMI 556 I had forgotten I ordered.

Christmas in March !!!!

Putting that away, I just stumbled across an StG barrel in the back of that stack as I re-shuffled things there. WTF?

I forgot again. This was just a few weeks back

Waited nearly 2 years for my 308 can..long story......

Start digging through the safe and found one I'd bought used on a form 5 sitting in the back of the shelf.
Sheriff lost the paperwork and that one was many years.....that was a nice surprize.

Still looking for my tripod dealio Handlebar thing from Jon.....be easier to buy another.
