there is no surplus powder readliy available - and most wholesale outlets do not have any. Eve nprimers are hard to come by right now. Pretty much all reloading stuff is being snapped up. you can't find Dillon 308 dies - a set of used ones sold on ebay for something like $260. If you don;'t have stuff now you are SOL. I typically get my powder / primers etc from Black Hills Shooters supply, and stuff there has been on back order for months. I liked it when surplus powder was $8/lb, but it has not been at that level for years. the 842 is a good load for my 223/ 5.56 rifles.
