Thanks to MeanGreen for posting his transit chest pictures. It got me off my butt this weekend.

I made the mistake of building this without my wife's help. I am very dyslexic (thankfully Firefox has spell check). Especially with numbers. I can measure three and four times and still get it wrong even though it looks right in my head. She usually proofs my work and I use her to double check things for me, but I choose to build this while she and my son were out playing so I could work all day on it.

All the same, it came out well. The black plastic box has my spare parts and cleaning supplies. It also holds my adapter. I had a 44" OAL and 11" height restriction for shelf space.

I had an abundance of brown paint in the garage so I went cheap and used that. All in all, I am into it for only $69 in wood and parts.

Nice Job!

I'm getting all jealous about the multi caliber adapters. They are very slick and compact making them a good fit in the transit case.

It is nice to see a smaller case well designed for the bipod role.

I lucked out when I built mine and found a bunch of oil-based olive drab paint on sale at Walmart.

Thanks. Always fun to build stuff on the few chances I get.

The cat was my assistant the whole time over both days. She spent a lot of time in the box too. Confirming interior specs I imagine...

Closest thing I have to adult supervision.

The multi-caliber adapter is neat. I toyed with the idea of the dedicated .308 adapter with the MG3 cans, but liked the built in link catcher of this style better.

I will attach some sort of slot on the inside of the lid to hold paperwork, etc.

Still need to work on a stencil as well.

The stenciling does give it that "official" look. Right now you've got a stealth case that could pass off as a big toolbox.

I downloaded a font with the flaming bomb and printed it on some heavy stock to make a stencil. It all turned out quite well. Here is a link to a good source for the font file as well as a couple of neat transit case ideas.

If you want to paint some verbage on there I can cut you 3/4" or 1" tall stencils for a nominal fee.
