Has anyone here gotten a TNW M230 conversion in a caliber other than 308? Anyone here gotten on in 3006, 8mm, or 7.62x54r? Anyone here have a TNW M230 that could comment on how hard it would be to change calibers with that conversion. I eventually plan on getting one of these conversion sets for my DLO and do not want to be stuck with a 308 only setup.

As far as the M230's mounting points for a tripod are they the same as a regular 1919a4? Would like to use my bren tripod with adapter with the M230.

Last has anyone made a custom feedbox setup or link catcher for the M230 yet? Generally in the past when I shot my DLO I did so with it mounted to my bren tripod with a custom (homemade) linke catching setup. Would be nice to have the portability of the M230 without losing the ability to have the links be caught.

Thanks all,

just built 1 but its in .308 for now, you should be able to convert to any caliber, the barrel will be the issue, you will have to turn it down to match the barrel in the kit. if you have a full auto the trigger issue wont be a problem. if for a semi gun it takes some getting use to the trigger, kinda cheesey hard to get it where you like it. overall its just ugly but it works. the bipod they sent was pretty cheesey too, still working on link chutes and ammo can holders nothing concrete yet...

Thanks for the response

What I was wondering is if TNW would actually do a 3006 barrel setup for the M230 instead of the 308 or if I were to buy one of the 7.62x54r conversions if it would be compatible with the M230. Most likely I would want one with barrels for both 3006 and 308 to keep my options open.

When you bought yours did they have any quotes for what a spare barrel would cost? Will be a while before I can afford to get one but I would like to know in the meantime. Cashflow is really low right now as I just found out the Call center where I work will be closing permanently on Aug 29 and all of us will be out of a job (except for higher management). Going to be busy working all the hours I can until then and job hunting.

SolothurnAT,

I have a M230 from TNW and it is in 30.06. I also attached a 100 round ammo can that attaches directly to the paw pin. It actually holds about 115 rounds loaded ready to go. I haven't tried to change calibers yet, but might in the future.
