Has anyone got one of the tripods from apex that are from Israel ?
Are they worth the money over the reproductions ? I’ve got a semi being built and will not be shot a whole lot but will be displayed on the tripod

I bought one from ima but never really used it, my 1919 came with one and there sits the ima one. Only used it a couple times, paint has flaked in opening and closing, but price point is easier on the wallet so I'm good with a little patina.

I always thought the Israeli issue units were good tripods!
We have sold over 220 of them in the last few years.
We used to sell the new manufacture tripods from AIM but dropped that product once we had these M2 tripods to offer.

The Apex tripods are US G.I. originally, lend lease, with data plates to prove it. They have had holes drilled in the feet for staking to sand, and most have been painted sand color. They had at least one available in parkerized finish for more money. So, if you want an original US tripod, that is a way to go.

As mentioned they are a great deal. Here are a few that came from them and you can see how nice they clean up if you want to spend the time on them.

Richard, when do these go on sale again? My Izzy A4 is looking for a resting place, but I had to break the piggy bank to buy that 37 loader!
I think these won't be on sale again.
The remaining quantity is all the better conditions (the sale tripods were mostly the ones that needed more TLC)
With no more US origin surplus being approved for import by the companies I buy from I don't see APEX ever getting a good quantity of these again.
