Some guys were just in here for the afternoon break and were doing some shooting outside so I took my last "evil gun", well built one anyway, out and tried to shoot left handed. I was amazed at how well I did considering the end of my left finger has been sewn back on. It was a constant mental challenge to keep good form but atleast I could see through the peep sight. Then bang, thump, dang thats hot. A casing bounced off my chin and went into my sweatshirt. Didn't hurt me but I was very nervouse for the rest of the shooting. Is there anyone who makes a strap on case deflector for the early AR-15s? I still got excellant original early finnish and I don't want to damage it. Thanks, Hotch

You could use some high density closed cell foam and shape it like the ones on AR15H-BAR's and stick it on with a little velcro, I got sick of this and bought a GI brass catcher for $2 at the flea market. I thought that brass spring loaded ball would mar the finish but it has not really and the blemish all but disappears after a wipe her down with a clean cloth and a squirt of CLP.

Hotch, I got one on my desk , I will give you , its a us military one, plastic with brass button, but you have to use it on the AR with a carry handle, I bought it and was going to make a brass catcher out of it and never got around to it. if you want to cover shipping I would be happy to send it to you, I can take a picture and send it to you to make sure it will look OK for you. just pm me. take care
