Ok so the Bowman .50 kits just hit the website. Can someone please explain how the process works? I am on the early preorder email list with JP before the merger took place, I read that they also now have a preorder list through the new website. It sounds like I’m supposed to preorder on the website and maybe pay then when the kits actually arrive an invoice is generated? I’m even more confused now after reading the instructions. Help and information from someone who has done the preorder thing with Bowman would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t think these are going to the website.

JP is going to reach out to people on the pre order (email list). From what I understand he is going in chronological order down the list asking for the prepayment

If you are one of the first people on the list expect that email soon.

Yeah but they are only getting 50 kits... so a lot will not get one. There is a second smaller batch, so the most would be 99 kits we could expect. So most on the list will not be getting a kit. For those who do, it's plus $925 over the initial advertising price. That does include shipping and no tax is collected.

So just sit back and wait for an email. You might get lucky and have to write a big check.

Any chance these kits come back in stock cheaper in the future or is that really just dreaming at this point? Maybe Ukraine war surplus? Eventually?

guy,s just an update, i talked to bob, and told him what what was going on about these 50 cal kit,s
but the thing is, Bob, is actually no longer involved in the compagny,
the right person to speak to would be Andrew Gallo, the chances that have been made were not done by Bob, but by the new owner, so you all know....

I guess the real question is what is a M2HB kit from the 1980s worth today, complete minus barrel and sideplate? At $7.5k shipped, there does not seem like there would be that much meat left on the bone.
I used to have the wrong mindset on kit/gun pricing and missed out on a lot of great stuff. I can’t tell you how mad I still am at myself for never getting any of the nice .50 kits Cristos had, seemed expensive at the time… I remember when I thought 1919 kits were overpriced at $750.00, now they sell for over 2K.
The way I look at it now is if it’s a kit I want and the price is in line with current market I get it. In 10 years when .50 kits are non existent and selling for over 15K I’ll sure be glad I snagged one of the Bowman kits for 7.5K. What seems expensive today is a steal in the future.

Yeah that makes sense. I have not been following M2HB prices very much. When I saw this come up, I figured it was time to move on it. It seems like not long ago that complete semi autos were retailing for $10k. I know things have gone a bit nuts and prices are up everywhere. If everyone says the price is good, I am good with that. I don't need some half price deal but also watch out for the sky is falling pricing.
