Bowman Arms new website

I am sure most here have seen this already but Bowman Arms finally got a website to buy direct. They have some neat stuff coming in and the only problem I see is deciding what to build next. I am on the list for two Italian Bren's and a 50 M2HB but maybe a Beretta 38A is next?

Yeah it makes me wonder that everything is only 45 days out. I hope those M2Hbs are nice and priced as suggested early on or cheaper.

The picture they have posted of the M2Hbs is interesting. Usually that purple color comes from blued hardened parts. However I was not expecting these to be blued. That said they look to be in pretty nice shape. Any insight from those that know more about these guns than me?

Believe the 'plum' color comes from 'Armateel' which was an alloy developed during WW2 and used on 1917A1's and the 1919 guns,as well as the M3's and M2HB's.
I have the only 1917 with dual-feed that Lucky13 built and had blued. A few parts have taken on the 'plum' color because of the Armasteel used for those parts.

Awesome! Good to see UZI kits coming in. Bob usually has great prices. Maybe I'll set aside the cash for one
They have been bought out by one of the companies that had been selling Bowman product.
Gallo Inc out of PA, not sure how much longer Bob will stay involved as he wants to retire.
So now they have a retail web site and are sending a better quality sales e-mail.
Thanks for the link Toolmanm203, just when I tell myself no more kits! Lol

I hope prices go down because of this change! Come on man, lets be positive! :)

Being positive is great but let’s be realistic, the original prices quoted by JP are way off current market and anyone thinking they are going to get a .50 kit for under 6K is dreaming.

Im hoping we still get emails to notify us things have landed that we signed up for and the items just dont land on the site. I sent a couple emails about being on the list for the mortars that recently came in, never got an email they were available, I found out like everyone else when bob’s video went up.

i emailed bowman/gallo last week and asked this very thig because i was worried about the MAG58 list im on and they confirmed 100% all of the backorder lists are still valid and being used.
Thanks for the link, been buying stuff from Bob for years. This should make for an easier transaction

Parkerized ArmaSteel parts turn plum color over time, same as if blued. My experience with even steel cast parts suggests to me that they can turn the same color. I think it may be due to the casting factor more than the material itself. Just as you see in the picture posted above, I've seen plenty of 1919 kits that look like that.

My experience with them is that I’ve never been contacted when I was “on a list”

and im not interested in watching a YouTube commercial to buy the stuff. Just give me adang list and I’ll buy the things.

I did get an email for the 42/59 kit and breda M37 kit, grateful for that email. I picked up an 81mm M69B-D (serbian) from Bowman’s video, just waiting on my form 1 I filed at the beginning of this month.

They said around $6.5K with no barrel. No mention on condition. I don't think thats crazy low. PKM and Mag58 parts kits were priced much higher than where they brought them in. There are only so many people buying parts kits at that kind of price. Bob is flooding the market. If he prices at market price, people like me have no interest. I actually think his price point is about right to get several of us on the fence in. He probably loses 10% of his buyers for every $500 he adds to the price.
L999 and Lucky discussed Armasteel use on Saginaw in a 2015 thread. AFAIK GM did not license the technology to other manufacturers.

Plum color on some foreign guns has been long discussed. Mauser bolts and SVT40 bolts reblued by Russia for example. Some FAL parts, where high nickel content is suspected. Clearly in the case of Russian reblue, it’s related to how they reblued AND the parts in question because thosebolts were originally blue, and because other parts reblued with plum parts turn out fine.
