Im trying to find out the correct gas piston diameter for my breda M37 as it currently sits it wont fit in the barrel gas tube. If you have one could you throw a set of calipers on the piston head and let me know the size??
A piston that came from a 7.92 kit and is used in a registered, live M37 measures .839" across the rear ring of the three on the tip of the piston. The rear ring had little or no corrosion.
I have not measured the piston used in the Italian 8mm gas tube. Since the gas tube on an M37 is part of the barrel assembly, it is possible the 8mm rebated caliber barrel employs a slightly larger piston than for the 7.92, so it would not fit into a 7.92 gas tube. Or possibly the other way around. You don't specify which caliber your parts are for. Let us know what you find.......
