I see a lot of brens have been made into semi autos, but what are you guys working off of?

I have no problem with weld, but the part about bolt modifications and trigger group have me stumped.

Will you please point me to the right lituature for a good semi build.

Photos of you internals would be great to.

Jumanra jig and FCG are excellent. His jig come with a build CD that gives you all the info. A little machining and his FCG parts, you are ready to go.

I did mine without a jig, you can use the lower and fill the gaps with metal to keep it from shrinking.

Get what you can while you can. kits-ammo, metal bar stock - rifling buttons. I'm afraid that one day a mini-mill will transfer on a "yellow sheet".

i can tell you this

i think i saw somewhere that wiselite is doing the conversions for less than $1500 ??? I might be wrong about this but if it's true, it's worth it.

i have more time in this project than i care to think about it. $1500 is worth it

I think Wiselite is up to $2300 a build. They built one for me at $1900.

Bren Semi - I would like to know the following:

1. Does the ATF require the barrel to be permanently welded on?

2. Does the ATF require the conical flash suppressor removed?

3. Is that why some are recessing the conical flash suppressors back down the barrel to the point where the end of the flash suppressor is flush to the barrel crown?

Brrreeen is right. Out of all the guns I have built (aks, hks, cetme, mg42, 1919, FAL) my favorite gun to shoot is my home built Bren.

Bren's rock. Everyone should have at least one.

Yeah the Bren build has been out since before the ban died. All that crap is from back then... but even then the barrel was not welded.

About welding, could it be done with oxy/fuel welding process, using rg70 rods?

What type of stress does this type of receiver have as firing cycle is preformed? Supposing I was able to make a solid bead, free of prosity holes, would the gas welding work?

Wiselite is NOT doing builds on customer supplied kits right now. They won't think about doing them again until they sell the guns built on their kits. They estimated at least 6 months to a year when I talked to them two weeks ago.
