Browning Books and Shipping Crate/Transit Chest Plans.

HELP THE FORUM! FOR EVERY BSD OR SET OF PLANS PURCHASED BETWEEN NOW AND JANURARY 3, 2011 I WILL DONATE $5 OF THE PURCHASE PRICE TO THE FOURM

Here's a few publications every Browning owner should have in their library.

Base Shop Data books with early 1940's publication dates for the 1918A2 BAR, the 1917A1, and the 1919A4. Each weapon has a seperate book. BSD's were developed by the Rock Island Arsenal to train factory armorers to disassemble, inspect, overhaul, assemble and test these weapons. They are quality reproductions of the ACTUAL arsenal documents, not some copy of a copy of a copy. Printed on 80 pound offset stock, spiral bound so they lay flat on the workbench with a clear plastic cover. These BSD's have step by step instructions with clear line drawings and have the reduced size drawings used to produce the special tooling needed to rebuild and test these weapons. BSD's are a must for your library.
$25 per copy delivered.

Also available are Standard Nomenclature List A-6 for the 1919 family of BMG's these are parts catalogs that also show accessories, your choice of publication dates 1941, 1943, 1944, and 1947.

The prewar (May 1941) version of the A-6 catalog also lists the rare A2 Cavalry version with the 18" barrel along with all the tools, accessories, packing specifications and spare parts allocations including the pack frame for horse transport and the prices of each component part! This SNL is is like prying open the door to King Tut's tomb.

$10 per copy delivered. Please specify which dates you require.

Last but not least, ORD 1 (1955) Introduction, formerly called "Purpose and Use" this document is the "Rosetta Stone" of Ordnance publications it lists SNL classification codes for everything Ordnance supplied, and has a detailed explaination of the various stock number systems.
$15 per copy delivered.

SNL's and ORD 1 are center stapled and printed on standard weight paper.

If there is anyone interested I have a 3 sheet set of the actual size drawings dated September 30, 1936 used by M1919 manufacturers to ship 2
M1919A4's.

These drawings consit of an assembly sheet, a detail sheet, and a bill of materials and drawings sheet.

This shipping crate was originally designed to ship 2 M1919A4's, it can be modified to carry one M1919A4 plus a tripod and other accessories.

The complete set (three drawings) is $35 rolled in a mailing tube shipping is included in the price.

Yeah, sounds like a lot of money for three sheets of paper but, the sheets cost me $5 ea to reproduce and I've got more than a few bucks in converting the digital image into a usable format, and then there's the shipping.

So, if you don't think this is highway robbery and want a set

you can e-mail me

You will not be disappointed in either the content or the quality of these publications.

Personal checks accepted for orders from board members all others postal money order.

Better than I thought

GRERAT JOB on the books kkkriverrats. On the way to Thanksgiving dinner got to spend 1/2 hour going over the 1917 shop manuel book. What a great amount of info is there about taking it apart and the shop tools used. If you have a 1917 you need this book.

Thanks

This is a GOOD DEAL!!!

I got my books and they are OUTSTANDING. Well reproduced on HEAVY paper stock; not cheap copier paper. And, LOTS of beautiful clear line drawings for guys like me who need lots of pictures.

I am VERY happy with my bsd book and recommend to anyone who doesn't already have one...especially guys with limited practical experience on the 1919, or even those lurkers out there who are kind of thinking about a 1919 or are just trying to save up the money. This book will help you now and when you get your gun.

Definitely AAA+++:D:D:D

Thank you

There a little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for.

I produced these the way I would like them, that is they will last, and not fall apart from normal use.

pricey side?????????????

pricey side???????????????

I DON"T THINK SO!!!!

Great books great heavy paper..... Everyone needs the diagrams to help with the parts on the 1919's and 1917's... And the info on how the "factory" redid everything can give you great ideas on how to do yours..

kkkriverrats will you be at the creek??? selling your books???? we could save postage getting them from you at the creek???

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Lots of people are used to those $5/$10 reprints stuff at gun shows so $25 sounds steep.

Cost and value don't have anything to do with each other, at least for me.

I'm planning on October. I have to send the BSD's by priority mail now that the first class weight limit is 13 oz. Usually runs $5/$6 so i guess I could sell them face to face for $20 providing my cost dosen't go up

One of the reasons for the weight limit was people mailing bricks to organizations that they don't like using that first class return postage envelope that they sent you . The organization had to pay the first class postage on the 8 lb brick.

Don't ask me how I know this.
