Why?

I hate to say it but why not just get a new gun?

You need a lot of internals and by the time you are done you will have a lot more money in it.

Either way I would wait, I have heard people working on a real ready to use semi receiver for the Tommy gun. The Philly receivers are really just for display.

From what I've seen in the AO/Kahr versions, you're better of building one if you have the machinery/tools/skills, at least it wouldn't fall apart as you shoot it.

This person who's making S/A conversions and new receivers, wouldn't happen to be a well-known board member would it? ;)

I don't like the engraving on the Kahr guns.

I want a blank receiver to do custom authentic engraving on it and to use as many GI parts as possible.

I also want a dummy selector.
I have thought about his for a while now scotty. I wanted to build a semi from their reciever too, even called them about it too.

I for one, don't like the long barrels and would pay the $200 tax stamp for a SBR. And I have also heard horror stories about the new-made thompsons, and how the quality is sub-par...

And thirdly, There is just something cool about building one yourself, like a 1919. Using an original parts kit is just cool too.

Lastly, I have also heard there is "someone" out there working on the semi-auto recievers......I hope......
