Here's my problem.... I have lots of pictures on my old 'puter. They are in my documents/ my pictures. None of them can be opened by any method I can think of. I can't even attach them to email and mail them to my laptop. What gives ? If someone can help I'll name my next 1919 after them. KevinT

What is the error you get when you try to open them?
What is the file extension? .bmp .jpg etc?

Run scandisk.

also can you transfer them on to a usb drive (the little thumb drives)
or can you burn the files to a cd?

if all else fails you can mail me the drive and i can try to recover the files...

i've been playing with this stuff for ages but no promises though

They are jpegs and windows 98? won't support a zip drive doohicky. The only important pics are of my mom and sisters, in one room, not arguing !! KevinT

well, the offer stands, i can slave it to a machine and pull whatever you want off of it. if they are corrupted than it is not good but if there is some other system issue causing problems than it will be no problem

Ahhhh, Win98 is fat32 or 16. XP is NTFS..
Still easy to transfer. If Rory backs out, I can help ya.
