Watching Fox.... supposedly Palin made a flight to meet with Johnny Mac last night. "a groundswell of speculation" .... they are still jawjacking about her as of 8:08 AM....

if she could ignore roe v wade or for her not to care about gay marriage she could rule the world
these will be two issues that will be a fight for the center minded lefties (raises hand)
i wonder what her views on stem cell research are? i know her most recent child has downs syndrome (i think). not being a person who has had to directly deal with that i don't know but one would think that an issue such as that would bring one closer to accepting the need for research.

Well, if Sarah is in the VP slot - I think McCain has a very decent shot of taking the election. Certainly better than if he had Romney or Pawlenty. Palin will add a dynamic quality that should counter Obama's. She'll grab some of the women's vote, and she's more firearms friendly than McCain (and MUCH more firearms friendly than Obama and Biden). As Rory points out, her views on "fundamentalist" issues, such as Roe vs Wade, stem cell research and gay marriage will have an impact on how much of the middle ground she can draw. And in the end, it will be the middle ground that decides the election.

Rory now you went and got me all motivated to get political for this season.
If she gets picked maybe I'll go volunteer to work for the party.

Rory she isn't THAT against the things you mentioned.
In this i mean it may be her views ,like you have your views ,but she has always held that it was a State issue .
Like if a candidate dosent care for guns ,but never does anything about it.
She is strict Constitution, and you will see that ,if the Constitution said ( and a marriage shall be within a man and a woman ) then she would enforce that.
Im telling you guys ,the Dems will crap they draws , Hillary did everything she could to avoid Palin.

I'm getting plenty of phone calls right now, news is that Sarah is talking with McCain, I'm praying to GOD she gets the VP slot. I also hope the Obama camp is soiling themselves right about now, payback is a b*tch!

I've heard of Palin before this election cycle. I have not heard of Obama before this election cycle. And I did hear of Osama years ago!

but to your point, i guess that depends on how you define election cycle.
if you had heard of palin before obama then you must have lived in a small town in AK or you are a nimrod and i call bullshit.
he deliverd the keynote speech at the DNC in early 04. then won a us senate seat later in 04. by 2004 she had a small position in the state govt of AK and a failed attempt for lt gov in same state.
so maybe you were not interested in politics then but your comment is asinine.
