I met him a couple years ago at an airshow here in pa. What a nice guy and very sharp and in great shape yet for his age. I had a soviet uniform on and he had lots of questions about my ppsh41. I have a pic of him holding it. He flew a B25 when he was 98 and the plane owner was right there by chance and said he flew it text book perfect! God bless him being 100.
It's amazing that these guys survived, yesterday I delivered one of my VFW Post's service logo personalized throws to a local WWII vet navigator on a B-17 33 combat missions over Europe, 91 years old and sharp as a tack and still on his feet. We owe theses people a debt that no amount of money can ever repay.
We have given out over 200 of the throws. Here's a picture of one of them, not the B17 navigator.
