Ok font of all gun wisdom, yes thats the 1919 board.
I bought a dummy receiver from Sportsmansguide. Nice engraving etc, but not threaded for the barrel. I had bought one of their 28 kits when they were around 500.
Are most dummy receivers prethreaded or is this something I needed to expect, and I know someone will tell me that from SG it is to be expected.
Other wise a real nice dummy for 135.
Thanks as always for the help.

Dummy Thompson aluminum recievers??

Not threaded for a barrel-- then it is not a dummy but a cheap display prop-- I have been beaten up for selling an all steel Replica reciever that is matched to your lower for under $300.00 Something you can be proud of on a display !! So I know money is tight but Buy quality not recycled beer cans !!

So take a real look at A real replica reciever !!

I am not trying to beat anyone up here but the aluminum recievers are worthless for building a ""Dummy"" that you have to glue the barrel into IMHO !!

Most of the aluminum "dummy" receivers I have seen lack threads for the barrel... you "press" in the barrels, usually by hand - which is fine if you only plan on hanging them on the wall and not touching them.
Go with the steel dummy receiver if you are planning on handling it.

OldTirediron, are those the receivers that were in the weaponeer group buy a while back?

ok
so Ill admit it, I am cheap.
Can these aluminum ones be threaded or is the bore just to big?
In which case I send the thing back and buy a steel one.
Sometimes a bargain isnt. I should have asked first here.
Thanks as always for the prompt replies.
