While linking ammo for Big Sandy I found a case of Egyptian 8MM that I bought ten years ago or so.
Anyone have any experience with this in an A-4?
Good looking ammo though....

Who can read the Farsi snake?

I have a buddy who reads that stuff. He looked at it, and it appears to him that the "snake thingy" is an abbreviation that appears to refer to "Egypt", and the "ov" translates to "57", probably the year of manufacture.

This is good ammo, only thing is that it is very corrosive, clean right after shooting!!!

That stuff is more corrosive than anything you can imagine. It shoots great (if you have a good lot and most of them were) but I'd even go so far as to tell you to swab the bore, bolt head and general area who some sort of corrosive solvent between shooting sessions, even as frequently as 5 minutes apart. Maybe the best solution would be to pour the stuff into a spray pump bottle and just hose the chamber area when you're shooting other guns.

I'm not kidding on this.

The last lot of Egyptian I got was not so great... lots of misfires. One 250 round belt averaged at least 50 misfires. The rounds didn't even respond to single loading into the A4 and nothing out of the K-98 sitting there just for that purpose. Chucked them into an ammo can for future component use (also to slow the bugger down IF it decided to lite up)

The little "snakey" thing means Egypt according to my friend at work. He is fluent in Arabic and Farsi.

Thank you all for the help. I knew it was corrosive, just not that it was corrosive plus. I still have a lot of the WWII corrosive cleaner and will keep after it.
Happy Shooting..........
