I've had my head down for a while......and shoulder to the wheel. But my devious mind and busy hands have not stopped. I have developed an electric controlled 1919 mount. She is 360 degree capable with rapid and fine traverse and elevation, proportional joystick controlled, solenoid fired with automatic position locks, infrared laser and imaging, heads-up display with video recorded shot and kill. This system is Plug-n-play in the Pinzgauer 710K or can be removed from the vehicle and fitted with ground mount legs and remote capable. It is just this week functional in the laboratory. Will range test in two weeks after I build some cable assemblies. This technology will be exported to the MO-ASS SYSTEM providing joystick control to the already ledgendary system that some of you already have, at a very affordable price.
I will have photos to post in a day or so....now I'm not a computer geek and have no clue about posting photos, and don't have the time to dick around and make it happen. Maybe one of you guys can help out here.

I have no time for games. No sport in this at all. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. I have a cousin that is working on a poject that involves a small heilocopter and 2 AA12 shotguns(other platforms available) that is all fly by video with GPS off a lap top. It can take off, shoot target, return, repeat all day long. Here's the site:http://www.neural-robotics.com/index.htmlpic pic to follow.
If things go well with vacation we might try it out with IR camera on skunks.
Sorry, Fleet I didn't really mean to piss all over your post.

I have seen the rc shotgun platform. It goes back a bit when fired! I kinda like the recoil of my 1919a4/6.

Innovation

Yeah, I'm taking the fun out of shooting like jets took the fun out of flying. This device is part of a complete defense system that will be offered to NATO. The 1919 can be replaced by a number of other rifles. I have already tried the PKT (awesome).

Clearly this is not the place for innovation, 1919 or not. I will not trouble you with this. Sorry.

Ryland, I'm interested in seeing what you came up with. And I'm sure there are others as interested as I am. Please keep us informed, and do try to get the pictures posted, I'd like to see. It's people like you with your imagination and ability to bring it to life that Keeps our hobby going.

Actually,.. I think it sounds great, Ryland,.. I worked on the M1117's and saw how it functioned,.. and the next gen will have stabilized guns, These had a M-2 .50 cal and a 40 mm grenade launcher in the turrets, looked as if they could do a 360 in about 2 sec's.

There are actually quite a few people that not only appreciate this project, but may have practical applications.Beats the hell out of a chicken plate if you ask me.
PM sent.

Wow, and I thougt I was a grumpy toy maker! Good Grief Charlie Brown! :(I guess no pics will follow. No affordable pricing for board members . For sale to NATO. All our MO -ASS SYSTEMS will go lacking. From Mr. Fleet's first post I thought he was building a device to take to the Creek or something that we could shoot using our computers and credit cards.Or sell us a ground mount at affordable pricing to defend our gardens from rascally rabbits. :)C'mon Ryland have you lost all sense of humor? Too many hours in the toy shop can do that to a person.

You did all the other work and some heavy electronic computer-solonoid bejeesus-work and can't figure out how to post photos?

Gonna offer it to NATO ... and not the US military or even us?

I'm betting he never had it done and was just looking for some atta boys and a couple thumps on the back. Getting riled about criticism is an easy way to back out .... not. I call bullshit.

My work is done here.

I have seen the pics when they were posted on Rich's site.
Looked like a well designed and finely engineered rig to me.
If I had the money ,I would get two of them.

What innovation? We had helmet controlled quad M-60's hanging off of Huey choppers back when? Late 1960's, early '70s? How much more of a challenge would it be to revert that back to a laptop?

I'm thinkin' somebody just rented "The Jackel" remake starring ol' Brucie Willus.... and thought ....gee.

What WOULD have been innovative would be to make it affordable to the lowly masses... like us. Laptops we have, not so much of a need for helmet control amongst us guys.... but a super precise firing platform with on board telescopic video sighting would be a hoot.

But... because someone's nose got bent it's not going to happen? Maybe if you all gush and plead and slather on plenty of warm fuzziness you can beg your way into his good graces and he'll ALLOW you to put down a deposit or something.

I like it better when someone just rips off one of my ideas and actually starts putting it into production and gets it out amongst the unwashed. At least it's real and you all get to enjoy something I don't have the capacity to produce... (would be nice if I at least got a bit of credit for the ideas, tho...) but I haven't taken my ball and gone home just because of a bit of ribbing either.

Low forehead

The low foreheads are present but do not prevail.

Bullshit? Surely you jest....

I'll get some photos up. My nose remains intact, but after spending a lot of resources and hundreds of hours on a project, I don't have the time or a lot of patience for heckling. My objective is to share information with interested parties and my brothers....(you know who you are)
Upon embarkation into development of this device it was resolved to not do any research as to what's already been done before to avoid contamination of ideas that might result in innovation. A few of the features that have been produced are new. For instance, a two axis traverse control.........variable proportional rapid traverse and a scissors-action proportional fine traverse with auto centering. I finished this feature last night and I'm pretty darn excited about it.
There is no computer associated with this device. It is all hard wired with relays and no semiconductors in mission critical areas. This will prevent electromagnetic pulse weapons from disabling it. Having said that, a non mission critical computer can be interfaced to employ an old dot-matrix printer program to enable sequential motion and fire resulting in production of text or perhaps low resolution photos. Clearly this has limited practical application.
The outcome may be a marketable device to the military or to the non price sensitive civilian market. More probable is that some features will present offshoot products to be developed. There is no clear mandate or objective here.....I'll go where it takes me. (The Cistine Chapel was not paint-by-number)
I don't mean to bore you with the minutia. If this is the case, go to the next topic. If not, stay in touch and I will keep you advised. The only reason I am posting here is that at present this system uses a 1919 weapon.
