I found this and thought the price was unusually low.

I thought 1919s ran closer to $17-$18k.

Wasn't sure if it is really a good deal or if the side plate used (Group Industries) was not a favorable one.

Any feedback on this item and its price would be appreciated.

That price is about right, to be honest if it isn't a C&R gun, whos name is on the sideplate is inconsequential.
If you like the gun and have the money buy it!

I paid $500 less in December for a Group Industries set up as a 1917A1 without the internal parts or barrel. Add the cost of an Izzy kit, and you are there. The Receiver was built with Brass Trunion with the water jacket and steam tube and correct sights and top cover. It all appears to be done according to spec. The previous owner was said to have some serious health problems and could not finish his project.

This appears to be the going rate with the higher cost of ammo and some worries about the economy. I personally bought a 7.62x54r conversion setup and I have a heavy load of ammo. The parts From my Izzy .308 will work with the CMP 30.06 that I hope to buy to add to what I already have. I have always liked my ammo.

From what I have read, Group Industries has a good reputation.

Get her bought!

It is a gun of a friend of mine. It is a really really nice 1919, has not been shot much as he had a post sample he used for his shooter. I believe he just had the rear cartridge stop changed to the 7.62 style so it will feed anything now. If I recall he may have had a new trunnion put in it at the same time and it was also refinished so it should look pretty near new.

No reports. I have not got on this project yet. I would like to have her all put together before the end of the summer. I am trying to get my blood pressure under control. Medicine seldom works like it should for me. I am currently taking three different BP medicines, and the seperate side effects are great fun to deal with. I am having a hard time getting motivated due to one or two of the newer BP meds causing me to be tired and sleepy. I do like looking at it every evening. I also have a Chauchat that needs some work, along with my type 96 that I took apart, but have not put her back together. My middle son is giving me a hard time. He wants to get some shooting done.
