I got my tax stamp/approved form1 back for the 2" brit mortar a while back and finaly freed up a little time to make a new bbl .
I started with a piece of 4130 tubing 2" ID 3" OD and turned the proper profile, then cut the 2.1"x4tpi acme thread to screw on the original base . Nothing left now but to machine a new firing pin and work up a few practice rounds .
I set the bbl up on the 4 axis mill and cut the proper 84 notches that allow the bbl to turn on but not unscrew, will post a pic in a day or two and hopefully a vid clip of it in action
Here are a few pics

so tax stamp means that this is now not a bp cannon... what will be shot out of it? as in you got a pic of the loads for this beast?

and because i know little to nothing about artillery if you were making a new barrel already why have the original instead of building all from new? never could understand why the base plates sold for soo much.

Nice mortar! Thanks for the pics too, I'm always interested in seeing how people build stuff.

What are you using for projos? I've heard of people turning Delrin or other plastics on lathes for the bodies.
