so i started moving from one house to the newer one in the end of february. this was a very long process and there was a lot of work to be done to the new house. last or at least close to last was the gun room. or as she refers to it the "manctuary" or the "he-man woman haters club aka no chicks allowed"

reloading bench

cleaning and fixin and stuff

ammo area (1)

sorry for the fuzzy images. my camera is at work and all i had was my phone camera here.

so room is 7-800 square feet kind of quartered off.

the ammo shelf area has a little refrigerator on the ground filled with an assortment of beer. :)

most of the stuff on the ground and on the wire shelf is the stuff i have been selling off for my friend so excuse the mess, but really some of you are getting some pretty sweet deals out of that mess :)

i have one more work table that will be going in either right behind the couch or where the wire shelf is. it is like 8 feet long so not sure yet where it will go.

reloading bench from left to right
hodgon super powder thrower for the 50 cal stuff

lee classic cast 50 press

dillon digi scales

dillon 650 with all the doo dads and gizmos

lee easy zip trimmer thing is mounted to the right. no good place for it really so there it sits out of the way but still easily accessible.

under that bench is a bazillion bullets and such.

to the left of that work bench there will be a tower of shelves. maybe 4 or 5 2x4 strong style. will get to that sooner than later.

any suggestions for changes?

That looks great, but I thought you said there was a refrigerator for beer. What does that thing hold, a six pack?!? So when are you going to get a full size fridge, knuck, knuck...

This Man-Cave should be the envy of a lot of folks! I have a humble 12'x12' area which just isn't quite big enough, and only one bench which requires removing the presses when not in use. That should work out real well being able to leave your presses set up AND having a bench for cleaning/repair.

Well planned out area. The only change I would make is putting that big screen behind the reloading bench. Nothing like loading up some '06 with Band of Brothers playing in widescreen!

I'm sure the girls will complain, but that stripper pole should be a little smaller in diameter.

the tv is not even hooked up.

i really almost never watch tv. no cable or anything. hell that screen doesn't even have a tune in it so even if i wanted to i couldn't get the broadcast channels.

sdk, the mess is really from the stuff i am selling off for the friend. what you see in piles is the next load and there is a bunch on the ground that is getting segregated out. the rest of it is actually pretty neat and tidy. you would be proud.

as for the ammo shelf, between the crates on the left filled with 8mm and everything on the shelf there is close to 100k rounds. (60k is 22 lr though :) ) and i am about to load 1500 rounds of 50 cal to which you will see a post shortly looking for opinions on what i should load.

my goal is to load up every piece of brass that i own right now. so i don't have such a back stock of things in waiting. so i can do it at a leisurely pace instead of holy crap i need a lot of stuff to start this project (right now)

jj that is just the rooms beer fridge. it holds about 15 bottles. every time i take one/three out i put the same number back in to start cooling off.

in the other room i have about 125 bottles of wine. upstairs i have another few cases of beer, 24 bottles or so of wine and a lot of booze. :)

for as little as i drink i have a lot of refreshments.

Rory! I expected to see a whole wall-high bank of ammo cans and crates! Where's all your ammo?

Get the coupon the .gov is mailing out ($40 voucher), after applying that you can get an external digital tuner box (non-HD) from Best Buy or whereever for about $20. I don't watch much tube either, but have the tuner set up for emergencies, election results and such.

I'd suggest you build a hutch to coat the entire wall behind that reloading bench. It's nice to have everything needed within arms reach

i am planning shelves up there just not had the time yet
nor the experience yet to know what i want and where i want it.

same goes for above the work bench... i mean for that one i just have to really think about what i want and how to lay it out. the dewey cleaning rods are great and all but really kind of crappy for storage concerns.
