I am looking for the company that was awarded the contract to produce the flame throwers for the US Army. Also if anyone knows of flame thrower parts for sale in local surplus stores or anywhere please let me know.

cheers.

I don't know if this will help but my grandmother worked for Elkhart Brass Mfg during WW2 and made flame throwers. We had one on the farm we used to burn brush with try to do that now and see what kind of crap you catch.

From "U.S. Infantry Weapons of World War II" by Bruce Canfield.

E1 Flame Thrower - A few were produced by Kincaid Company of New York.
M1 Flame Thrower- Produced by E.C. Brown Company of Rochester, NY.
M1A1 Flame Thrower-Also by E.C. Brown Company.
M1A1 Flame Thrower-Produced by Beattie Manufacturing Company of Little Falls, New Jersey.
E2 was developed by Standard Oil Company
M2-2 Flame Thrower-Produced by Beattie Company, E.C. Brown Company and also RlF. Sedgley, Inc. of Philadelphia, PA.

A total of 41,452 units were procured from January 1, 1942, through December 31, 1945. The majority of these were the M2-2 variant. I hope this helps....as I said Canfield's book has an excellent section on these.

That's pretty interesting. The E.C. Brown company, later Monroe Ordinance, is only about a mile or two away from where I'm at, and a few blocks north-west of a school. I never knew that before, I might have to go down there and take a look at some of the local WWII history I missed, if that's still not too bad of a neighborhood.
