A question since I'm sure anybody interested in this is going to ask anyway!
Does it come with a belt and or any of the training "ammo"?
Thanks,

I had the same question, but a closer look at the ad and I saw the line "no belt or ammo".

Why does all the really neat stuff come up for sale when I have no money? Guess I could stiff the state on their property tax money and buy this instead. Just a homeless man wandering thru down with a shopping cart and giant 1919......

I was at the Dec. Rock Island Auction http://www.rockislandauction.com and after it was done they were getting things ready for their next sale and I saw one of these for their May sale. I expect theirs to go for at least $5,000 w/o commission (their auctions run high) so this one is a good deal.

We had those training model M1919A4's in the National Guard back in the 60's. As I recall the training ammo consisted of yellow plastic cartridges that were almost exactly the size of .50 cal cartridges. I believe the belt held about 10 rounds but I could be wrong. Sadly, I remember throwing out a bunch of the cartridges back in the 70's or 80's as my Guard unit had no further use for them.

Odd Caliber

Just FYI for anyone. I recently made a round that fits this model of training aid. A friend of mine got his for $300.00 when a local gun shop closed up. I know of one more here in the tristate area for sale so there seem to be quite a few. What is it worth? What ever anyone will pay for it! The caliber is neither 50 or 20 MM but right in between. As the firing pin does move when the trigger is pulled a live round could cause quite a mess. I suppose that is why there is and odd caliber involved. I had an auctioneer aproach me at the most recent O.G.C.A meeting with photos of 20 BAR's and 4 or five 1919's. He told me his client found them in an attic in Dayton. I have his card if anyone is interested.

Price is fair, for sure.

I have one, not in as good a shape. (missing rear site) I saw a BAR cut-away recently and the price was $2,000. The training ammo is available, there is a guy here (can never remember his name) that specializes in these trainers. (Bill????) He has the ammo available (yellow) Apparently there are also green rounds made, but they are much more rare. These are very cool, sure would look good under somebodies Xmas tree!
