I'm giving up my SOT and have started to sell off my post samples. If this is not allowed to be posted here feel free to delete/move.

These are only for SOT's, if you have to ask, then you can't own them

..." If you have to ask, then you can't own them " . Sounds like something a snotty teenager would write, not someone seriously offering to sell guns.

Or it could simply be the words of someone who's tired of answering the same questions a million times to those who are too lazy to spend 5 minutes doing a little research on google...

...lol...

...pass the popcorn....this is getting interesting. Would love to get the Vickers to go with my 1917 carts. Too bad I'm not an 07 Mfg. any more,as I could get the SOT and own a few more FA's.

Tripod

You state the tripod, T&E, pintle are not included with the 1919A4 postie. Are you interested in selling that stuff?

A postie sure isn't as valuable as a form 4 gun per the auction results.

Im sure someone will disagree. Post samples are the same price as a parts kit generally. Sometimes less as the pool of available purchasers dwindles every year. Plus law letters for demo guns are getting next to impossible to get. I know post samples of 240's and 249's and various rare stuff is expensive but as a rule, depending on where you live, they go for cheap. J

The fact that these need no law letter makes them much more appealing to alot of SOTs, If you watch GB the no love letter posties seem to bring 3-4 times parts kit value
Just to be clear, neither a Class 02 SOT nor a Class 07 SOT requires a law letter. But, a Class 03 SOT still needs the letter.

Im an 07 and If I purchase a post sample made by another manufacturer ATF requires a requires a demo letter. I dont need one to manufacture a post sample but I do to purchase one , The only time an SOT can purchase a post sample without a demo letter is in the the event the SOT he is purchasing from is giving up their FFL as in the case of the original poster, unless something has changed in the past few months

There is a exemption for FFL's giving up their SOT, which exempts the Post Sample demo letter requirement for MFG's and I believe importers but not dealers.

partially correct, and exactly my point, any SOT can purchase a post sample from another SOT thats going out of business with no letter needed which drives the price up
I agree on the "drives the price up" part, just not on the "any SOT can purchase without a law letter" part.
https://www.atf.gov/file/58186/download

Section 479.105(f) requires the FFL/SOT going out of business to transfer machinegun(s) manufactured after May 19, 1986 to a Federal, State or local government entity, qualified manufacturer, qualified importer, or, subject to the provisions of 479.105(d), to a qualified dealer. The transfers must be completed prior to the FFL/SOT going out of business.

The transfer of a machinegun manufactured after May 19, 1986 to a qualified manufacturer or qualified importer can be done without the ‘law enforcement letters of interest’ when the possessing FFL/SOT is going out of business.

Note they don't include Dealer in the last sentence.

As some have stated, it is correct that manufacturing(2) and import(1) SOT's can transfer these without the need for a law letter. A class 3 would still need a demo letter.

I've been wanting a cart for a while now. Can't seem to find them for a decent price, or when I do their pretty rough. :jedicrying:

I'll be holding onto those items for now for some semi stuff I have. They def don't bring as much as a transferable, though a bit more than a normal postie without the letter being needed.
