I don't know that this is appropriate to post here. If I have broken any rules please delete this post.

I am very upset, and need a place to vent my frustration. I have a good friend that I have known for 16 years. He was the one that talked me into moving to AZ, and gave me a place to stay when I moved here. I talk to him every few days.

He called me this morning, I didn't understand who I was talking to on the phone, I had to ask three times. When I realized who it was, I asked if he was ok? And I mentioned that he sounded terrible. He told me that he was in the hospital, but was hoping to get out today. He had been in there since Monday night.
My friend "Bob", was in bed when he heard a loud bang on the front door, Bob went to the door in his underwear, opened the door and was shot with a tazer gun. The one with the barbs that stick in you. Needless to say this took him off his feet, and he is 6'3" 260lb. Two guys jumped him and hand cuffed him with his hands behind his back, then zip tied his feet and legs. He was face down on the floor, they told him they wanted his money, and they new he had a safe. (unfortunately his house was robbed a few months ago, while he was on vacation, and the safe was broken into and they stole what cash was there) He told them he didn't have any money, it was all kept in the bank because of the other break in. They didn't believe him and proceeded to torture him. There means of torture were tazing him with two tazers at the same time, one of which was direct on his manhood. These ruthless SOB's evan went as far as to rip his under ware off, and grab his goods and yank. My friend thought they were going to pull it clean off. Then they used a crack lighter (mini blowtorch) and burnt his manhood and his face all over. He will probably have permanent scaring, they kicked him in the head, and back numerous times. He passed out multiple times, the last time he came too, the thugs were ransacking the house, breaking anything and everything. He didn't dare move or make a sound, in fear they would come back to him to finish him off, as they probably thought they all ready had.
When the thugs had left, Bob had to try to get up. He is 67 and has bad knees, it took him about 30 min to get off the floor and in the kitchen, he realized all the phones had been wripped off the wall and his cell was gone. He some how was able to get a kitchen knife and cut the zip ties on his legs. Then he stumbled to the neighbors house for help (pants less). The woman called 911. When the rescue showed up they had to cut the handcuffs off. They were so tight they were cutting the circulation off in his hands, and his hands were swollen.
I don't think the police will ever catch these SOB's, but I wish I had a chance to give them a little medicine.

Thanks for listening, Please remind your friends and family of the sick world we live in. Please use this info to better your home security if you can. Please protect the ones you love.

Sorry to hear about your pal. You would think something like that would happen her in Kalifornia...but it just goes to show you there are "people that need a killin" in every state. My dad lives in AZ in a pretty small town, so this touches close to home. He's about the same age as your friend. My heart goes out to this guy. Sure hope those ba**ards get theirs ! !

Thanks M14Sgt.

I was able to spend some time with my friend this afternoon, he is doing OK. I offered my spare room to him in my home, I told him he can stay with us as long as he needs to. I don't think he will, but I hope he does.

And then they want to say what Mr Horn In pasadena Tx was wrong:mad: when they tried to enter into one of my neighbors house and I heard people yelling for me first thing I grabbed was my g21 and 2 clips. Now it would be my mossberg and g21 just incase I need a little more stopping power:mad: Never answer your door by opening it have a secure door and a gun in hand. I hope your friend gets better and not to say get revenge, but if this were to occur again he would have to do the right thing and clean the gene pool in AZ.

Unfortunately, he has learned a hard lesson.

We are building an enclosure at the front of the house to create a 5 foot separation between the front door and the front of the house, we are also installing security bars on all the windows. He will also now be buying a firearm.

He will no longer be going to the door unarmed (mentally and physically) A few extra lights around the house might help too.

This is happening more frequently all over the country, I don't care what time of day or night it is my 45 is on my person or with in reach, if the door is forced they are mine. and 45 shot first beats taser every time.

Your friend is lucky to have survived his ordeal, these vermin get on a power trip and think they can do anything they want. It's good he has a friend like you that cares about what happened, if he isn't firearms savvy take him to the range and drum into him practice, practice, practice!

scary times

Last night my mother in law calls all freaked out, we live out of town on a dead end road, but the guy at the end of the road is a dope dealer so we get our share of unwanted types, it was late at night and she went out to call in her cats before they became coyote food, she was sure she saw some one out behind her house, so I slipped on a big coat with big pockets, dropped the 1911 with a clip full of hollow points, nothing in the chamber, with a couple of lights we searched the field only to realize what she saw was reflection of a water trough tub, we all had a good laugh afterwards but it makes you think just how far are you willing to go if push comes to shove, I have a wife and four little girls so I'm pretty sure just how far I'd be willing to go, I had friend that lived in dark south Oakland californica who never went to the door with out at least a loaded handgun, theirs was the only house on the block that hadn't been broken into, the black wolf and dobie might have had some thing to do with it. Be safe.

My friend asked me today about guns, he has decided it is time to get one and his CCW permit. We talked for a while of the pros and cons of the different makes, styles and calibers. I am meeting with him tomorrow to let him handle a few of my semi's. We need to see what feels good in his BIG hands, We are probably going out to do some shooting very soon. As for any one, size, conceal ability, and stopping power are high on the list. He seamed to be a bit concerned about price. My response to that was "what is your life worth?". If the gun you find that you like is a few hundred bucks more than another, is that going to stop you from protecting yourself?? I explained to him that it is a tool, you know the value of good tools, don't take a short cut on tools when your life is dependent on them!!!

Myself and a friend are building a security enclose and window guards this weekend, powder coating them on Monday and installing them on Monday. This is the next step that has to be done, for his protection. I am donating my time, skill, and paying for the powder coating, He will be paying for the material. I know he is tight on money right now, and I'm in a giving mood.

For the kind of defense he needs a short barrel pump shotgun in 20 or 12Ga. would be better for him. It does not take a great deal of training to operate it efficiently and it won't go across the street or next door and injure or kill someone unintentionally. Also he can probably get a good one for a couple of hundred dollars. I suggest 20Ga. because they are a bit easier to handle on recoil and at room distance very effective.

On Oct. 22, 2006 19 year old my nephew was murdered in my home. He was living with me. The problem is one of his friends had brought the guy with him. And the guy made it up the stairs and out the door before we had a chance to react. Now I carry my Colt Compact with me at all times even in my own home.
They caught the guy and it seems he was an Iraq vetaran and a gang member wantabe. Now my father is a 22 year army vetaran and was in two wars. But this piece of human garbbage needs to be put to death. He shoot to death a unarmed 19 year old and ran away.
You have got to protect youself and your family at all times because the threat may not kick the door down.
Also remember this you have to make up your mind now that if you put two .45s in his back like I wish I had as he ran out the door. That the cops and the DA are going to want to talk to you. And they don't have a sense of humor.

Colorado1919,

Sorry to for your loss.

I completely understand your feelings. I also carry all the time.
In reference to shooting someone. We had that discussion also. The scary part is, if you do shoot someone to stop the threat, and that person dies as a result, you can almost be sure there family will be taking you to court under a civil suit. Evan if you have been cleared of any criminal wrong doing and deemed as an act of self defense. These low life's cant seem to understand that there family member is the one that was in the wrong, and got what they deserve, and some how these people seem to think they are entitled to your money and belongings because they lost one of there team. It is a sick world we live in. I cant believe that the legal system will even allow a civil suit to be filed once the investigation is completed and you are cleared.

As for a shot gun, that is great for the house, but he needs something on him all the time, as it seems he is being targeted by some one, and he doesn't know where or when his next problem could happen.

Frank,I bought some 7.62x25 for my CZ ,it is that wolf HP .It halved a 4in.diameter tree and it fell with one shot. I still keep the G34 long slide near me though. I never go to the door without looking out side first.Did you know that the 7.62x25 is nothing but a 30 Mouser hopped up ? Some guys are re-loading this stuff with 125gr JHP and getting near 357 velocity's out of the guns.I dont know if that is such a good idea in guns that are nearly 50 years old.

Its really bad here in Az theft is at an all time high and no one can do much about it except shoot the perps-hate to say it like that but its true, they just run mexico and its all forgiven in their eyes. Hope all is well with your buddy. He better get a gun learn how to shoot it and some extra steel security doors if nothing else and keep those locked get something type of lock that is anti-bumpable. A screen door with steel screen mesh would stop barbs from a tazer.

Thanks Chad,

I have been in the security door business for years, as head of sales for a larger company, and my buddy was the head of the fabrication department for the same company. Any one wanting to get through this set up will have to try real hard. Nothing is impossible to get though, but this will certainly slow them down, and it would make a lot of noise if someone tried to get through.

We talked about metal mesh on the back side, the only down fall to it is that you cant see out at night. We might be doing a large covered area, with a peep hole cut in it. That will have to be his choice.

I second a 12ga pump for the house, and a good handgun, 9mm as a minimum, or 38 revolver, 44 special or 45ACP if he's comfortable with it. With today's defensive hollowpoint ammo, any of these calibers is an excellent choice for self-defense.

Thank you.

The reason they sue is because of thier morality. These people think that it is ok for them and thier relatives to steal our stuff. They have been told by the libtards "that it's not right that we have so much and they have so little." So if they can't steal it they will sue us to get it. And lawyers wonder why people look down on them. I guess I'll get of my soapbox and give this thread back.
