I got a good deal on 30 cal ammo cans today, a local store is going out of business and they had a bunch of 30 cal cans, they sold for $1.25 each so I bought 96 of them...:D Some are a bit rusty on the outside but most are cherry on the inside... B2B

ammo cans

If they still have a good air tight seal who cares what the outside looks like, they are so well built that they will last longer then you. Use the store food as well as ammo, then if you have to grab some in a panic situation you'll have some food as well as ammo, and out there that could be caused by many things. Any early style cans? I'm always looking for more WW2 style cans to decorate my half-track!

wow thats insane, i pay no less than 3 bucks a can even when buying 10 or more

who cares about the outside, sand em and paint em. When i finally get a park tank im gonna try to park a can and see how it comes out. Either than or powder coat, a buddy did one and it came out really nice, but had a bit too much shine for me - the options are out there for crappy looking cans.

Since your local your welcome to come borrow my tank. might be a good reason to get it out, I need to do some parking anyways.

Ha... can you imagine being in a SHTF situation and you grab a can from the pile and bust open your Ramen noodles?

The store is Bannaza in oakely they have some of the cans left but I got most of the better ones. I left the dented and serverly rusted tweeked ones.. I'd say they have about 50-60 left. They also have some other types of cans I don't know if they are ww2 or what but they are longer and skinnier, I got couple of them also...I agree, I'll spray some paint and have a good can for years.. The 30 cal are mostly 762mm M80 ball linked cans, but some are recycled repainted yellow or white fuze cans etc.. some of them still have the cardboard boxes and od green bandoleer pouch in them... I'm not selling any as I have use's for them. They also have some 40 or 30mm brass bore brushs... and other mil surplus parts tools cables straps etc.. I was buying some 1" HHS drill bits for a dollar china but for a buck:D... I didn't really need them but if I do I will have em.. their outside stuff is 90% off... I'll have to return and get some more cheap stuff soon. B2B

I could see it now. Hurricane comes rolling thru and I grab the cans and bug out and then need my AK only to find out I grabbed the cans full of Twinkies...they don't cycle worth a damn:).
