I guess the rules over there are that the main moderator can say anything he wants about me but when I reply to it I get a lifetime ban from the site.

I posted a reply to the beltfeed forum section of that site when I was told that the moderator was basically trashing me. I remember the incident very vividly with him, he sent parts for machining then accused me of not sending a pin in the lockframe back, even though I had emailed him when I received the parts that the item was missing, he has called me a liar and thief and when I responded I received a lifetime ban.
I guess if things are that way over there to hell with GUNCO.

sure, don't lie. you really needed that pin. its not like you don't have parts for 1919 strewn all over the shop and hand parts out willy nilly at your builds. who is the moderator in question at gunco?

Since the moderator at GUNCO is dragging your name through the mud - why not share his name with us? Since he appears to be a sleazy person to do business with, publicize it here. And invite him to join the discussion. It might do him good to know that he can only control criticism in his own tiny world.

gunco name is 7.62x39

my reply:
i have had a great many dealings with 30calmachinegunner and all have gone splendidly. everything from 1919 machining to m2hb help to a bunch of other random stuff. heck, he even helped fabricate a part to help me fix my soon to be father in laws 100$ shotgun that was not worth fixing. i would do business with and trust this man more than most others that i have ever dealt with.

i left him with a few thousand dollars worth of parts for close to a year and never once questioned his virtuosity. let him into my house as he has done to many others. he is a welcomed friend and a great man to do business with.

I don't know how much this means but in the last two or three weeks GunCo has sent me the usual form letter saying I had not been there in awhile and asked if I would visit the site again. When I did this I logged in as usual and tried to look at some blueprints that were posted. I received a message saying I did not have authorization to view them. I sent them an email using there contact us form as usual asking why this happened. No answer. A week later the same thing happened again so I asked the second time. Still no answer so I finally gave up.

If they are not interested in contact from the members than I believe they should not ask for feedback.

They send me that note too, "We noticed you haven't visited GUNCO in awhile" I guess there is a reason I haven't. Bashing a friend of mine is not the best way to make friends! Brian, we all know you better than that!!! TO HELL WITH THEM!!

Ive never been to that site, but this seems to be a common complaint about GUNCO on several other gun sites.
One guy was talking about a different set of sights on his rifle and they banned him ??

Here is my post over at gunco...

30calmachinegunner helped me out when I was looking for a part that no one else had in stock. The part arrived quickly and in great shape.

In my experience, 30calmachinegunner is a good guy.

Regards
gunnutjay
P.S. Now aa-ok drove me a little crazy lately, but that's another story!!!

Thumbs up 30cal!!!

sdk, you just get along with everybody, don't you. I HATE people like that! :p

Just messin' with ya, of course. Now I have never been to gunco, but if they have that kind of attitude towards a fellow like Brian over a $5 pin, I can't see any reason to go there. But then, I don't go to any other board much other than here and weaponeer.

Lucky,

im actually pretty "picky" about who im thinking is good and who's not....

im either all the way for you, or hope you die a painful death.

but this is definitely a good person (Brian).

Here's my .02, not that it matters.
Who is this guy and what is it with moderators and the chip they seem to wear?

I too know Brian and have ongoing dealings with him, the dollar value of which reaches easily into the thousands. I would stand behind Brian and his word on this, I have seen him pull parts out of his own kits to give to someone who lost or misplaced their own. I don't believe for a second that he wouldn't replace something he was responsible for.
I'm with Rory on this one, I'd say you banned him to cover your own ineptitude in loosing or misplacing a part. By your own admission you didn't know what parts to send or what they were.

If he was banned for selling as you say why wouldn't you just lock the account instead of banning and deleting all of his posts?
As for refusing to admit he made a mistake maybe you need to look at yourself first, it seems to me that you have a pretty good case of "I never make a mistake" disease yourself.

B, do you have copies of your corespondence with him? That might change the way he looks at things....

What i said...

"Not sure what happened in this transaction. For what its worth I have done business with 30cal and must admit his turn around on parts are super fast. never had a problem. I would not hesitate to do business with him in the future. I only ask one question and that is if one fails to follow the rules on this forum and the mods are so strickt about the rules that you would get banned for life ( I.E. not followig the selling rules) then I for one dont think this is a forum Id like to participate. Yeah I dont post much here but I do look around."

The thing is if you just screw up you get banned wtf is that about.... forums should be a place where we can relax not be uptight.,..

I think that this activity is exactly why Gunco has a members list 100 miles long, but only a very small number of people posting. I have only been a member there for about 8 or 9 months, and I have quit visiting alltogether. It seems that there is an ongoing fight between 2 groups of members whose sole purpose in coming there is to **** on the others cheerios.

I really don't know the history of Gunco, but it apears that at one time it was a really thriving and productive community. The stickies are evidence of this(some really great tutorials over there). I know there was a big offshoot of members that left a while back and went to another site.

GBO can be like that at times ,over all it is a good place ,but i have seen one forum there where the Mods follow every member with a post about how they are wrong or it isn't the way to do something.

Wow, I can't believe that you would come in here and sully the name of the admin in question there at Gunco. I mean, afterall, you did loan me, for free, a set of bucking equipment for my 1919 build not knowing me from Adam. What kind of guy are you?

Seriously, that sucks that in this situation you have no means to defend your name, I have browsed the site a couple of times but can pretty much say that my account there will continue to go unused. Not that I expect tears on the part of gunco, hell, I can't really afford the big toys.
