Mines a 30-06 semi but , the loads I use for my 1918A3 don't have enough Ooomph to reset the hammer.
So it doesnt cycle all the way and it becomes fun.

OAL of rounds are critical on these too.

My stupid latch on my 'soft mount' is failing too, pops open and the gun slides all over after 10 shots.

I'm thinking BLC-2 loads aren't cutting it for this gun with 140gr tracers. I have varget and IMR4350 on hand too.

Is the booster installed? If Dennis built it, he removes them because the surplus ammo has too much recoil. I would see if he has a booster and install it in the flashider where it belongs and see if that helps.

Yup gotta watch oal of the rounds, tip needs to start hitting the feed ramp before shoulder ramps are hit by the rounds. A smaller orifice booster can be fitted in there to account for weaker loads. The booster cone should not move so having to punch it out after extended firing is not uncommon. Measure the booster dia. and maybe I have a smaller one.
