I don't know how much you guys in other parts of the country hear about whats happening down in the Phoenix area, we got this sheriff down there who doesn't care who he ticks off in order to uphold the law and take care of the scum, lately he has been targeting illegals and doing a really good job, but lately the protestors have been showing up when ever he sets up shop, this last week a bunch of supporters have started showing up as well, a lot of biker looking guys and ex vet types, it's only a matter of time before things get ugly, last week some duffas showed up packing a 12 gauge, which is probably legal in arizona but they arrested him anyhow, which was probably good, if things turn violent I hope it their side that starts it, but a random shot from either side could turn ugly real quick, I watched some national news tonight and didn't see any thing about it,gee i wonder why?

The reason you didn't hear anything on the national news is because they don't want to help sheriff Joe do his job. Now if one of his deputies happens to shoot one of those undocumented (illegal) immigrants - it would be front page news for weeks. Remember sheriff Joe is a elected politician, but he always gets 75% of the vote. H'mmm - he must be doing something right.

yeah sherriff Joe is kinda funny, got chain gangs on the side of the road wearing striped prison gear like in the old movies. I even heard he reads prisoners a bed time story over the closed circuit TV (not sure if true but what i heard). The fact that he does not bow down to the illegal immigrant activists and the like is good in my eyes, ESPECIALLY for an elected position.

I wasnt out here for more than a month before my dodge truck got stolen and ended up in a part of town where all the store signs are in spanish  truck was left with an empty tank of gas and completely trashed. They stole alot of **** they got no use for, like power tools without the charger and even the belt fed shooter sticker off my back window. It stank of weed, had child fingerprints all over it and they took my knife to my seat covers. Just to be assholes i guess.

It might not be just the weather that heats up, but i say bring it. Im tired of hearing people pissing and moaning on the news because their whole workcrew got deported, or when the whole mcdonalds got cleaned out. Just a couple weeks ago there was a stink on the news about a waiter making a 'joke' about spitting in a couple cops food becuase the kitchen staff got deported a couple weeks prior - not a good thing to do in earshot of the po po's.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio is a character. A colorful, wild-west lawman. He makes it plain that if you break a law in his jurisdiction, you will be punished for it. He does not see jail as a temporary vacation with free food and TV. He utilizes the chain gangs (well, I'm not sure they have chains any more, but they're outdoor work crews in the warm Arizona sun). And when the jails have been too full, he's set up tent camps.

There are the predictable outcries from the people you'd expect to hear from that he's too mean to the criminals - but as has been mentioned, the voters keep re-electing him by a wide margin. He's not perfect, but he sure gets the message across that he's there to enforce the law, not pamper the criminals.

I think JAIL is the punishment there, regardless of indoors or outside. And I also think its a great idea... ;)
