Hi! I'm getting a 1919a4 in 30-06. I'm a photographer who wants it as a cool prop for my hot models. I'm getting spadegrips because I like the look, sorry purists. I have a USGI M2 tripod ordered ($360 Sportsman's Guide, club price) I need a Pintle and T&E (so these 98 pound girls don't strafe everything in sight!) I see an M3 pintle, and have seen long and short shafts. In the T&E I see WWII, and Postwar. What will work for me, whats better to have, and what looks cleaner? Dazzle me with your knowledge guys! I want to buy this stuff right away too, so tell me asap, thanks!

The M2 or M3 pintle will work on the M2 tripods. The M2 only has (1) groove and the M3 has (2) grooves. T&E's are similar,but the .50 cal. is larger and will only work on the 1" M3 traverse bar. The M2 T&E is for the M2 tripod and is for the 3/4" traverse bar. However,for show or as a prop,both T&E's will work. There are over a dozen type of mounts for the Brownings...and the Vickers,Maxims and several other machineguns will fit on similar mounts. For specific answers...ask specific questions and someone on the site will get you an answer pronto. This is by far the best site for the 1919/1917 Brownings....

Don't think you will be happy with the SG M2 copy for a tripod. I gout one with the T&E and Pintal for 600 from Ohio Ord and it is the one with out the holes. Looks great.
Be less money then the 379 copy tripod and then getting a T&E for 200 and a pintal for 100......
