Well, looks like it wasn't the sure thing she thought. Does my heart good to see that ***** taken down a peg. I realise this is early in the game, but she was so sure it would be a shoe in.

LOL she came in third, didn't she say that she had it wrapped it up, over confident or just plain stupidity on her part.

Now I am NOT one who thinks that it is a done deal that the Democrats will win the White House this time around. But let me pose this question. If one were so resigned, would anyone here REALLY want an Obama or Edwards over Hitlery? As bad as she is, I am not convinced that the others are less scary. They may be even more so. Just my opinion, which Pvt.Joker may respectfully agree to disagree with! ;)

And this is only against her Democratic rivals. Let her got into the real Ball game.
She is a Mouest,as in China.
It will burn her in the end.
But as some of you have said ,who is it that we run against them ?

If I had to pick one of the 3 to get the Demoncrat ticket, it would be Edwards. I despise Hitlery, and if Osama knocks her campaign on its arse, then good for him. But if he gets the nod himself, I'm afraid that he will draw enough of the PC crowd who will vote for him simply because he is a black man, regardless of his political ideology. (What can I say; the first black man to be President of the united States of America should be Alan Keyes, not Barak Obama, IMHO)

I don't consider the election conceded to the Dems either, though. But then again, I don't consider Ron Paul out of the running yet either for the GOP, despite the MSM's best efforts to portray him as such. And frankly, just from a pragmatic standpoint, Ron Paul might be the best hope for the GOP to keep the White House in 08. Think about it; if Obama DOES get the nod, he will draw a LOT of new voters out on the Dem's side. If the establishment candidates like Romney or McCain get the nomination, the Dems will play it as carrying on the unpopular policies of Bush (whether true or otherwise) and that will polarize them while failing to excite many of the GOP base into voting. If Ron Paul runs and draws out the GOP voters, HE stands to also draw from the anti-war/anti-establishment crowd on the Dem's side, thereby splitting THEIR vote possibly enough to overcome Obama and win with. Yes, I realize that some Republicans don't like what he represents, but are they enough to win without his supporters? The last round of elections would tend to imply "no", and a GOP candidate who has a record of being lukewarm on issues like gun rights would be a seriously counterproductive move for the GOP, if they are serious about wanting to be relevant for the next 4 years.

That said, my second choice for the GOP ticket would be Huckabee, for similar reasons. I don't know that I believe his sincerity quite as much as Ron Paul's, but he does strike me as being saavy enough to understand what the voters are looking for, and yet also smart enough to know not to screw over the base that will get him into office (ourselves as gun owners, for example). I think Obama is eventually going to figure out that his support for "reasonable gun control" including the new AWB is going to come back to hurt his performance in the general election. Ask Al Gore how that worked for him... ;)

Sara Palin.
Her speech.
( media ) Governor what is your stance on gun control ?
SP ,what does the Constitution say ?
( media ) but Governor ,statistics say...(interupted by,SP) ,I don't need to hear statistics ,what does the Constitution say ?As an elected Official i took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States.
If you want to know my position on anything ,the first thing you need do is read the Constitution.
(media ) OK Governor ,what about your plans to change the existing Welfare laws in your State ?
SP. OK let me emphasize the first question ,The Federal or State Government has no right to regulate any law abiding American to keep and bear arms, any arms.
Illegal search and seizure of firearms in the hands of law abiding citizens is totally unconstitutional.
Welfare in its present form has failed ,those needing it do not receive it, and those who do need it never receive it.
(media ) Governor what is you position on Border security ?
SP ,I feel our Borders are a ticket to disaster, I fail to see the reasoning in the fact that say,an Italian Immigrant ,coming here and going through the system legally ,should be shoved aside for an illegal Mexican Immigrant to be moved to the head of the line,if they even show up at all,and receive benefit's.
Taxes,The American people are nearly taxed out of existence, The Federal Government as well as States ,and Municipality's need to be accountable for the Taxes they levy on their citizens,Schools need to show progress,LE and judicial needs to show crime reduction.
Don't tell the American family to tighten up its belt ,until you do something about yours also.
Oil and gas: SP: take the taxes off gas ,open Anwar,Deport the 13 million illegals in this country and you will see lower gas prices, and less Government waste.

Now,who do you want to be President?

Phalanx, Sara isn't going to run for president this time around, but when a candidate does finally emerge, it might not hurt to do a letter writing campaign to get her on the ticket as VP.

Beyond that - I'll toss in my centavo's worth of analysis. Hillary sure got her face slapped. For all the money she dumped into this, the machine politics she used, and the confidence she showed, she got the wind knocked out of her in Iowa. Still, a lot can happen in the next few weeks, so she's not out of the game. But both Edwards and Obama got a major vote of confidence here that will possibly affect voters in upcoming primaries. I think it's still an open game between those three, but I'm hopeful it will boil down to a battle between Edwards and Obama.

The republican slate is still very much up in the air. Five strong contenders in the Iowa race, with #6 likely to gain a bit in New Hampshire. None of them is so far ahead of the others that they can't be knocked out when the field starts to narrow. And the field will definitely have to narrow after the next few primaries. I was surprised at McCain's showing - stronger than I had expected. And again, Romney got slapped just like Hillary did - he dumped a fortune into the contest and thought he'd bought a victory. A couple more primaries might deplete his war chest. If he gets slapped into second or third place a couple more times, that could push him out of the run, allowing his supporters to move to other candidates. Ron Paul will be an interesting card in this game. I don't anticipate him making it to the top of the Republican pile, but his influence could still have an effect. If he withdraws and backs another candidate, that could give his chosen candidate a big edge. But if he breaks away as a "Ralph Nader", he could drain votes from a Republican candidate when the going gets serious.

Unfortunately, (and predictably), I'm not thrilled with ANY of the candidates now running. And there are a couple who make me definitely nervous. So I'm hoping that the House and Senate races feature some good choices, and that vice-presidential nominees might take some of the sting out of the presidential candidates.

I am not sure if Bork Osama can be elected, because of his very anti-terrorism and anti-second amendment attitude, but people are stupid, so who knows. But, like I say, the Germans were “smart enough” to vote Hitler into power!!!
Most of the candidates scare me when it comes to the second amendment. These retards are determined to take away all our rights, lock, stock and barrel (pun intended)!! I really fear for the future!!! There could be a LOT of blood shed, as I see it!!!!

What i wrote was Sara four weeks into her newly elected office.
After she had fired 1/3 of the state workers for being lazy, corrupt,or not following her orders.
Sort of a Reagan Air Traffic controller thing.
The little mousy babe everyone laughed at ,came in ,and they were not laughing anymore.
The media went nuts ,she stood there and told them how she felt ,and how things were going to be.
Tell me the last time you heard any politician say :
I was elected by the people ,i took an oath to uphold the Constitution ,
If you want to know my position on matters ,read the Constitution.
This isn't up for debate .

Hitlery in Iowa from an Iowan

We Iowans are not quite as stupid as some of these east & left coast media
lead you to believe.. My Repub caucus location had 120 attendee's in 2004, had over 550 on Thursday nite.. A lot of people here really dislike the Dems message..

That's good news, Roger!

And as for Sarah Palin I think she is a rising star who we need to keep an eye on. My guess is that she needs to get far more time on the National stage before she can be considered a likely candidate even for Vice President, though the idea sounds great. She is not yet well known throughout the country. But if a case is made by those who's opinions matter, that she would benefit a Republican ticket, you won't here me complaining!

Lucky, the woman is not at all afraid of the media .
When she ran for Governor these same arguments came up ,no experience ,will loose the election ,To young.
The media couldn't get her trapped into saying dumb stuff.
She talked only about the abuses of big Government ,The last time she looked Alaska was still a state ,and subject to the Constitution of the United States in its entirety.
She never waverd or even broke a sweat.
Those who knew her warned that she was like this ,and to under estimate her would be your undoing.
She won by a landslide in a lot of districts ,Why ? the people liked her and they came out in droves to vote her in because she was for real ,and not afraid.
I read some where that Obamas camp watched her campaign Videos ,Hopeing to translate some of it to his run for Pres. Seems to be working.
OH give this girl a stage ,and the next day it would be the only name you would hear, experience or not.
The Republicans and Democrats fear her for her ability to connect with Americans on things that matter to them.
She is direct ,focused ,and tells it like it is,why is it Europe knows her name?

Phalanx, don't get me wrong. I am not arguing that she lacks experience. I am just saying that someone who has not yet become well known nationally is a hard sell in a national election. The value of her getting more time in the spotlight, as Governor, Senator, what have you, is that people will in time come to know her and she will have a longer track record in her favor. I am already sold, but that doesn't mean she will sell easily on the bigger stage. As I said, if the people who count think she will do, put her on the ticket. But we are a long way from having a ticket to put her on. After Super Tuesday, that will be more clear, but it will be the top party and campaign advisers who's opinions will count. They are usually looking for someone who will bring in votes the main candidate can't otherwise count on. Meanwhile, the more publicity she gets, the better. :)

Then I say we get here national news and put her on ABC, CBS, NBC , FOX, CNN etc so the whole world hears to bad she would only be in office for 8 years. maybe take a 4 year break and go at it again...:D

Oh lucky i wasn't offended bud, sorry if i seemed like i was.
Remember during the carter years, how badly people felt ? then this little voice rang out from a man that was an actor once ,most people in this country didn't know ,or care that he was once the Gov.of California.
He made it clear that Iran better back down, and some things were going to change ,and he could stand up to the Liberal media Machine.
Some of the best presidents we ever had were no body's ,underdogs.
Sara can handle herself ,just let her go ,give her a stage and it is all over for the Washington ,Lawyer ,crowd.
No Senator ,Congress woman ,not subjected to that corruption yet.
Out of the Blue from the frozen North ,wake up,new sheriff in town and you and me and millions of others sent her there to clean that toilet up.
Grant was pushed into that office against his will ,he knew nothing about politics ,and he inherited a mess, but the people wanted him,the stress killed him what a War couldn't do.
She is qualified now ,more so than anyone else , all of the people running have experience, and look what we have ? Dufuss and more Dufuss.
Sara has gone up against the Treasury ,the BATF ,and others for practices in her State she didn't care for ,and let them know who was in charge here and to leave if they didn't act accordingly.

Right Frank ,Why did the Obama camp train off of this woman ?
I will say this for him ,he isn't stupid.
Hitlerys Clinton tactics hit her right between the eyes.
I saw her speak ,taking on big oil ,long time good old boys, corruption all over the place.
Then stomp a mud hole in them all ,let her talk ! You have to see this Guys.People were crying ,they couldn't believe someone finally got up there and stood ,,OUR,,,ground.
The Middle east ,she said that the Governments over there either stand up and participate in what America is trying to do for them ,or she will open Anwar and leave them to their petty squabbling.
They act like spoiled children ,and like children its time to pull the pacifier out of their mouth.
And i will not be Black mailed into allowing this to continue.

Phal,

I don't think SP stands a decent chance of being President.. not yet. ;) I would like to see her as VP real soon, this would open people's eyes to what she COULD do as a national leader, pave the way to victory when she runs for President.

I do agree with Joker, Alan Keyes makes perfect sense compared to the likes of Obama, at least Keyes supports the Consitution and is well-versed in its history, I liked listening to his views. :D
