CHECK POST#19 FOR A CORRECTION TO THE GUIDE

Ever wonder why U.S. Army Ordnance had all those numbers for parts/drawings and stocking?

Well so did I and with help from Lucky#13 and 762x51 I produced a "GUIDE TO U.S. ARMY ORDNANCE DEPRTMENT IDENTIFICATION AND NUMBERING SYSTEMS FOR THE CAL.30 M1919 BROWNING MACHINE GUN"

Easy to follow, with illustrations from Ordnance documents, the 44 page Guide will help you understand why things are the way they are and how they got that way.

You can get your very own copy delivered right to your door by first class mail in a plain white envelope for $13.

Personal checks accepted.

PM or e-mail me. While not an official member of the Tin-Foil Hat Brigade I would just as soon my address wasn't all over the internet.

Yes, I'm going to buy an ad on the forum. Direct e-mail me [email protected]

Great work and info...

Just recieved my copy of Charlie's work on ordance marks and all the intricate workings of the Ordnance Dept. Spent almost an hour just reading the background and history of the way things were done back before we had ready access to copiers and emails. Charlie has done a heck of a job just making sense of the entire subject, but I confess...I'll have to dive back into this work to really get a better understanding. Good job,Charlie....made a lot of info available that just was nowhere to be found by the average 1919 wonk....

Another bump to pimp the Guide and a message

Steelbelted I sent you a pm re: your mail address for shipping please give me a reply.

AD should be up shortly so I can stop pimping my Guide directly on the forum.

Thanks to all who ordered.

So far all of the response has been positive, but it's early in the game.

Next up will be QUALITY reproductions of the BSD (Base Shop Data) for the 1917, 1918A2 AND the 1919 and a couple of hard to find Ordnance publications.

The BSD is a detailed, illustrated assembly/dis-assembly/ function test booklet with specialized tool drawings produced to train aresenal personel. The BSD will be printed on heavy stock, not like the El Cheapo versions at the gun shows, AND will have a plastic sprial binding. It will lay flat on the bench for your convienience, availability is several weeks away still working out the pricing.

If you own any of these weapons you need the book that goes with them, written by the experts.

Business is good

Business is good on the Guide and I hope to have additional offerings in a week or two.

So I established a e-mail address for ordering, maybe a web page, and a bigger AD later if this takes off.

You can still use pm's or the other e-mail posted to contact me or use the new one:

Correction for buyers of the Numbering Guide.

While rereading and up dating the guide, I discovered a mistake.

SEVERAL PLACES IN THE GUIDE IT REFERS TO THE 1919A4 BARREL DRAWING NUMBER AS D35322 OR 6535322 THIS IS INCORRECT THE CORRECT DRAWING NUMBERS ARE

D35233 AND 6535233

I APOLIGIZE TO THE BUYERS FOR NOT CATCHING THIS ERROR. FUTURE EDITIONS WILL CONTAIN THE CORRECT DRAWING NUMBERS.
